Miranda Zero

Published at:  Oct 22, 2003 1:38:28 AM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

Will “Global Frequency,” the completely brilliant and vaguely “24”-like Warren Ellis comic book depicting the adventures of a diverse and extraordinarily capable 1,001-agent international covert force, become a TV series on the network that spawned “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”?

Our pal Warren remains suspiciously silent on the matter, but Dave Davis over at CHUD.com says something’s up.

At this point it may just be a pilot order, but …

Who, one wonders, will they get to play Frequency lynchpin Miranda Zero?

Global Frequency's a great book, one of the best on the shelves. I think what makes this idea great is the possibility of great guest stars. No idea on a Miranda Zero... maybe Lucy Lawless after Tarzan is cancelled...

    Dear God...

    by havoczer0

This could be amazingly cool but since its the WB with a DC-esque property, it's gonna suck ass. I mean Besides Smallville, DC adatations have sucked. I mean what, Global Freqency - when the agents are Teens?

    Miranda

    by dougmac

They could surprise us with a quality Miranda. She's not a lead part that has to be in many scenes, so they could get a good actress that is looking to build some credibility or break a typecast without committing to a major part. You could get a big star that wants time for her family and only wants to shoot one or two days a week even. Then again they're making the Flash a costumeless time travel series so prbably not

I'm currently constrained from commenting in any way, but
since the following news story was released this afternoon --

-- I can't stop you from reading it. Hell, about thirty people

"Under that deal, Burnettt has also teamed with writer-producer
John Rogers for a drama based on the DC spy comic "Global
Frequency," which has received a script commitment from
    the WB.

" "Global Frequency" revolves around an independent defense
intelligence organization connected by a worldwide telecommunications
web that uses ordinary individuals as agents around the world to
fight black ops projects, unexplained phenomena and other problems
    the government agencies have. "

    "punked-out Frequency lynchpin Mirando Zero"???

    by toonimator

"punked-out"?? "Lynchpin"? Miranda Zero founded the Global Frequency, but she's hardly the lynchpin, let alone punked-out. I think you're mean Aleph, the network coordinator. If she went down, the Frequency would be severely crippled.

Should be a half hour show

    by orlac88

Not that I have any idea what i'm talking about, but the brutal pacing of the book is what keeps me coming back for more. That and the fucking delightfully blunt ellis dialogue.
