Harry here... gosh, will there be a gigantic KILL BILL empire spawned by Quentin's latest? One can only pray! I'm going to be fascinated to watch the reviews come in on KILL BILL by the national critics via Rotten Tomatoes. Currently it is 8 ta 1 in Quentin's favor... with the lone voice of lunacy coming from our ol pal David Poland. Hell, it ain't like I don't know what it's like to be a lunatic... I've been there.

I picked up the new issue of "Newtype," this slick rag that focuses on Japanese anime and pop culture yet to hit our side of the Pacific. This month's issue features an interview with David Carradine talking about how he digs samurai sword fighting and such.

The juicy shit goes as follows:

"Bill wouldn't be in the sequels," Carradine says. "The original concept calls for two sequels, but they're going to be shot quite a bit apart. The children of some of the characters in this pictuire will become the stars of the subsequent movies, but there are also plans for a prequel that would be animated. It would be done with anime, as far as I know. That would take you back and give some of [The Bride's] backstory." "As far as the prequel cartoon and, to a lesser extent, the sequels, these are visons that Tarantino has..."

How 'bout 'dem apples? I have yet to see KILL BILL, so this talk of kids has got question marks going over my head Metal Gear Solid style... but I did see Vivica Fox's daughter in the trailer...

and then... there are still a few tickets available for the Austin Premiere of KILL BILL which the Alamo Drafthouse is throwing with the Austin Film Society this Wednesday... yes, as in TOMORROW!!! You could be partying down with Pei Mei!!! The Leader of the Crazy 88's himself... Gordon Liu. Last time I saw this GOD, I had to climb about a half billion Ming Dynasty steps to the Temple of Pei Mei on some mountain in China. Wednesday, he'll be in Austin, at the Alamo Drafthouse... I promise you... Going to the swanky cool new ALAMO DRAFTHOUS LAKECREEK is much easier than flying to China and climbing a half billion slippery Ming Dynasty steps! Though, personally, I'll miss the sound of a zillion cicadas... and the sight of the Miramax Lady being consumed by Chinese Bugs! See ya next Wednesday... I mean, this Wednesday!
