Phil DeGraves catches a peek at the CROW: WICKED PRAYER teaser trailer!
Hey folks, Harry here... This is a film... that should probably have no right to be looking forward to. The last... however many... Crow sequels have sucked like an overheated Hoover, but folks... Lance Mungia is directing this sucker. Lance Mungia directed one of my all-time no-budget films... SIX STRING SAMURAI. This guy raving about the images he saw in the trailer send me over the moon. Lance has the ability to make a film that could kick ungodly ass. The reality is... if he were directing the IRON FIST movie with Jeffrey Falcon as IRON FIST... the movie would own all of our asses 5 times a day. Here ya go...
The Crow: Wicked Prayer
Hey Harry!
I don't know how much of a scoop this is, but I got a chance to see a rough cut of the new Crow movie trailer and it's amazing!
Eddie Furlong looks great as the Crow (the make-up is slightly different, but works terrific), David Boreanaz is an amazing villian with a scene eating presence I had no idea he was capable of, and Tara Reid looks gorgeous. The trailer is atmospheric, brutal, action packed, emotional, and just plain beautiful.
I'm sure you already know the story takes place on and around an Indian reservation and Eddie's character returns from the grave to avenge his and his girlfriend's death. (Eddie's girlfriend is played by Emmanulle Chriqui, the girl from Wrong Turn). I liked director Lance Mungia's other movie "Six String Samurai" a lot, so I'm expecting great things for this.
I'm sure it will be available on-line soon, and it's definately worth looking for.
That's it!
Please credit me as Phil DeGraves.

Seriously, you spoiled THE MATRIX REVOLUTIONS not me and i got the kick... blah!
-
Just like Salvation...I wanted to see it badly...I know it was crappy but there's still a chance that a new Crow flick could be totally shatpank! Oh...and second! Holy cow! I am getting excited....
-
For some reason this is hard to picture... But, okay, I'll reserve judgement till I at least see the trailer. Is this going to be released in theaters, or direct-to-video?
-
If anyone from... whatever studio it is that makes the Crow, I don't know, wants to hear it send me an email and cut me a check. It's a fresh spin on it, man, really! sk

Watch season 2-3 of Buffy and any Angel episode where he was "evil". The guy kicks ass at being bad. Except for Valentine. That sucked ass.

C'mon, you're kidding, right? Is this some sort of "September 11th Fools Day" joke? I thought he was all coked up and couldn't act any more? Oh well, they could have gotten another French guy with a minimal grasp on English. I guess I'll go re-watch Pet Sematary 2 now...

so many movies have borrowed heavily from the original Crow flick which in turn borrowed heavily from Tim Burton's Batman? I've forgotten how many crow flicks there have been but I remember the last one I caught starred that hispanic dude from NYPD, Jimmy Smiths? Or sumthin. Hope this one kicks ass. But with Eddie Furlong in the lead - I Seriously Doubt It!

Shooot. There was a time, I would've sacrificed a dozen Warner Bros. execs to see him play Robin inna Batman movie. Hell, it's nice ta see 'im a playin' a bird-boy of some kind! Anybody else out there ever take one 'o yer lady's Cosmos an' put Crow designs on celebrities' faces with a pen? Man, somebody was really missin' th' boat by not casting Johnny "Viva la France" Depp as the revengin' revenant! I have absolutely no opinion whatsoever on this movie. Like a lotta folks, I love THE CROW. LOVE it. And the "sequels" are virtually nonexistent to me. It would be fantastic if this became a sorta sleeper, cult-hit. But there doesn't seem to be much hope 'o that. Even cultists get tired of bein' cockteased, and I won't be surprised if this fades into oblivion. But, HEY! Ya neva know.

a straight to video p.o.s!!! The Crow hasn't had a good flick since the first one. Also, Hulk Hogan should have a cameo...
-
My point exactly. And Brian de Man is a fucking prick! He knows what I'm talking about. I hope you die in a plane crash biyotch!

The first film was the best, albeit with a different death for Eric than the comics' Eric and gained Box Office $$$ based on the accidental shooting and eventual death of star Brandon Lee. The second film was good, but flawed due to the last minute rewriting and dropping of most of the references to characters from the first film(e.g. Eric's name is mentioned more, the rooftop battle with Kali was way better, the voodoo shit, etc..) and the removal of the original ending. The third film sucked much ass and was mostly a retread of the first two with some BATMAN influences and the main actors/actresses were wasted in this direct-to-video trash that could've been a shitload better had Rob Zombie got to do his film instead of this drivel. Bad decison making on the part of New Line/Dimension and lack of faith in my boy Zombie. Now, Lance Mungia doing a new CROW film could breath new life into this series, and......... although I think Mark Dacascos is the shiznit as a martial artist, the TV series suffered from the deja vu of having Eric transform into his deadlier side ala 'The Incredible Hulk' and took place in the daytime way too much. Here's hoping Lance can resurrect this series and Ed Pressman can quit milking this cow.

is there any way the general public will be able to see this trailer. Any news when it will be released? Considering all the previous sequels I don't think that i'm the only one who is very hesitant about this adaptation.

Right after the first one burst on the scene and achieved small cult status, there was talk(think it was a '94 Film Threat w/Abobo from Double Dragon on the cover?) of Juliette Lewis taking on the undying spirit of the Crow? Female Crow pitched my proverbial tent and then...BLAM! Crow II REDUX-came out looking(no offense to Vincent Perez), but nowhere feeling the same.SHIT.

God it was utter garbage. Can you imagine that as a part of a double feature with Highlander 3: The Brainfart. It would be like The Ring and you would die from watching it.
-
shame on you, shameless planter. like anyone not producing this worthless movie is going to know who the unknown girl is and her credits. duh. plant plant plant plant plant.
-
I mean, come on. A trailer that isn't available for the public to look at? Where else would this be, except inside the production offices....
-
Are you kidding me? Eddie Furlong in, . . . let me get this straight. . . *breath*, a Crow movie!?! How!...what th, um,. . . I just dont get it!! CRAP! CRAP! CRAP! This kind of thing should neeeeever, eeeeever happen!! Ever!!!
-
Yeah, how much more planty can you get? David Boreanaz's SCENE EATING PRESENCE!!!! Tara Reid is GORGEOUS!!!! The trailer is ATMOSPHERIC, BRUTAL, ACTION PACKED, and JUST PLAIN BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you gotta love the Emmanulle Chriqui name drop, you know, from that classic movie with similar young demographic appeal, WRONG TURN!!!! PLEASE WATCH THIS MOVIE.
OH DEAR GOD WATCH THIS PIECE OF SHIT...... -
Every movie after the first one sucked harder than a dollar whore. Hell even the TV series was better than the sequels

Have read a lot of the comments here. Can't say I'm surprised. fans have become a bit jaded when it comes to news on the net in regard to the Crow. Well, I can tell you that MY review of the trailer is not a plant by someone within the cast or crew of Wicked Prayer. I am LLcruize. Co-webmaster of ABaHB. We have covered the Crow for over 6 years now. I was fortunate enough to see the trailer and it is everything the review here said it was and more. To see my review, head over to http://abahb.crowfans.com/news. Click on the link.

Give this film a break until you see the trailer. Sure, the TV series and Salvation licked balls but City of Angels had to follow up a great movie and did very well in that respect.
-
The original crow kicks ass but things have to move on and we should wait and see the film before we dismiss it as being crap.
