I keep hoping for a lot of wacky and funny stuff to happen, but it's basically just clay renditions and a human hand fixing things every now and then.

This went over so well they're switching to an all-animated format! Mondays will be done in no-budget '70s Hanna-Barbara style. Tuesdays will be rendered with a Lite-Brite. Wednesday's show will feature stop-motion Lego animation like in that White Stripes video. Thursday is CGI Night... Weta will do Conan & the guests, while ILM takes care of the band and the audience. And as a special treat, they'll take Friday night off and pre-empt the show with the little picture-loops of Harry and his Man Boobs that AICN fans have come to love so dearly (my sources tell me the first week will feature the wildly popular "Bowling Ball").

First Carson was uncool and Letterman was cool. Then Letterman became uncool, and Conan was cool. Now Conan is losing his cool, and Jimmy is the cool one.

The corporate ass-kissing required to access their airwaves makes it impossible to be so (not to mention the pitiful desperation to avoid offending the ridiculous superstitions and pseudo-morality of the American Midwest). On the other hand, when he wakes up in the morning, he's got Sarah "How the Hell Did Such a Hottie End Up as a Stand-Up Comic" Silverman laying next to him, which is more than you can say. It's certainly more than I can say!
