Hey folks, Harry here... Ah here's a geek panel if there ever was one... A big exploration of the return to prominence of the SUPERHERO FILM... There really isn't much here, other than a status report on GHOST RIDER and SUB-MARINER. It seems that Kevin Mischer is awaiting David Self's SUB-MARINER script, which means it must be coming soon... Cool. Also it seems the Mark Steven Johnson is just beginning work on his GHOST RIDER script, but is already begining FX-tests. Read all about it below...

Just got back from a panel discussion you would have loved - it was called "The Return of the Superhero," held in NYC as part of the festivities surrounding the Tribeca Film Festival.

The panelists were: writer/director Mark Steven Johnson (Daredevil, Ghost Rider), actor Alan Cumming (X2: X-Men United), and production executive Kevin Misher (he's developing the Sub-Mariner movie). It was moderated by Good Morning America film critic Joel Siegel, who was his usual annoying self.

As for news, nothing we don't already know. Johnson is just beginning the Ghost Rider script, and Misher is awaiting David Self's script for Sub-Mariner.

Johnson said that they're doing FX tests for Ghost Rider's flaming head, explaining that fire is a difficult effect to pull off. He's not sure whether to do an all-CGI head or just to CG parts of the head.
