More Pink from THUNDERBIRDS... they riding that LEGALLY BLONDE craze'

Published at:  May 02, 2003 8:35:58 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here... From the images we've gotten on THUNDERBIRDS so far, you'd think the whole film was a retro LEGALLY BLONDE meets the PINK LADIES fantasy flick... However, it isn't. There's actually supposed to be all manners of non-pink stuff too. Although, that's all just alleged at this point, cuz we ain't got no proof of non-Pink stuff in THUNDERBIRDS, I just believe that Number One wouldn't do that to us. Here ya go....

Hi Harry,

Just saw the Thunderbirds feature and thought I'd sends you some scanned pics from last week's Mail on Sunday supplement.

The newspaper sucks, but lately the supplement has included some nice movie news. Generally they print pics I've already seen on the net, like the Van Helsing promo art, but I haven't spotted these Lady P and Parker photos anywhere else...

The film looks like it's gonna be camper than Austin Power's Y-fronts, but could be fun!

Rogman.

Dear christ how bad does this look? Frakes should go back to doing crappy voice-overs on cable TV.

"I swear to God, woman... you can't drive for shit!"

    by fawst

Remember your source material, Frakes. In the world of the Thunderbirds, women can't drive for shit (and cause towering infernos when they do).

The one scene that needs to be in this movie is Parker being tossed around in the back seat of that oversized pocket-rocket, while Lady P "drives" like a fucking madwoman, taking out telephone poles, cars, pedestrians, etc. God that would be great...

    It looks Frakestasic!

Although I was never much of a Thunderbirds fan, I think Will Riker is a good director and I look forward to seeing more movies from him in the future.

Er, so are there any Thunderbirds in this movie?

    by heleno

Or is it all going to be Lady Penelope, as brought to you by the dregs of the English tabloids?

    Why No Ships?? Because....

...some of us would be blowing our loads too much if they let those cats outta the bag! They want to tease the market, but they also want to keep the cool stuff under wraps as long as possible (OR they haven't started filming/CGIing the main hardware).
I just hope they use a line I've come to love from the old series at least TWO times (I have the DVDs, obstentially for my 2 1/2 year old). Scott Tracey, in his most dramatic voice: "This heat...it's...FANTASTIC!!"

  • Thank Fuck the Baldwins aren't on board (although it would be rather funny). There were some great feature-length episodes of Thunderbirds. They should just take the best bits of those stories and re-do 'em. Save some money and give it to the poor Iraqis.

If you're gonna make a Thunderbirds movie, make a Thunderbirds movie. If you're gonna make up your own shit, that's o.k., too. Just don't call it Thunderbirds.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

    by robinp

Thunderbirds was great ! In as much as I did grow up a little, I grew up with Thunderbirds and a Gerry Anderson comic called TV21 (there was Lost in Space and Batman as well...I was lucky enough to be a kid of the sixties) but I think that we have to face the fact that, well, that was then - this is now. They were a product of their time. That time has passed. Thunderbirds, as a concept, can only be viewed in the golden haze of nostalgia. The exact same goes for The Avengers. These series typified sixites escapist stylistic sensibilities. In the new millenium, they're little more than historic media oddities and curiosities. It's a mistake to try and revise them or revisit. It's best if we just look back every now again and sigh for times when things were simpler.

TRY AND CATCH ME, BIIAATTCH!!! PS: I didn't know they made Zodiacs in pink... I guess Lady Penelope wears pink floaties too huh?

    Gee!..Mr Tracy....Thunderbirds.......Joe 90...

    by doc cock

now all we need is.....Captain Scarlet, for all you people out in la la land, all Gerry Anderson's 'supermarionation' tv progs. were 'cutting edge' in the 60's/70's and have been crying out for the big screen treatment for years. I have now heard that Disney have bought the rights for 'Joe 90', and reading the Gerry Anderson 'fan site' Captain Scarlet is getting the full cgi treatment (similar to the Starship Troopers Chronicles)ready to be broadcast in 2004, so......fuck all you clowns that say it will be shite, fuck all you retards that say Frakes is a prick.....because we/I don't care, yes...I may have liked someone else to have directed, and yes it may not be to everyones taste, but I for one am looking forward to it; bad, good or indifferent....."Home, m'lady"...."home Parker"
