First AMERICAN WEDDING Trailer Online!!

Published at:  Apr 21, 2003 7:41:58 AM CDT

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

As far as I know, this one’s not even in the theaters yet. And I'm willing to bet that when it is in theaters, it won't contain all the jokes you see here. This is pretty dirty, all things considered, and it looks like they've revised this quite a bit since the script I read. Anyway, one of our readers managed to dig up the AMERICAN WEDDING trailer online, and so here it is for you!!

Hey Harry and Moriarty-

The Patriot checking in. Thought I'd give ya all a look at a new trailer I found for American Wedding. Pretty funny, so it will probably never show up here in the US. Anyway, the link is here - 2 sizes, in Quicktime:

CLICK HERE AND SEE WHAT NEW TRAUMA THEY’VE DREAMED UP FOR JIM’S PENIS!!

Enjoy!

The Patriot

Thanks for the heads-up.

"Moriarty" out.

  • How do Paul and Chris Weitz do it every time? Got me, but all I know is they could be the all-holy kings of teenage comedy and that I will be first in line to see this. I imagine this trailer might go through some censorship before this hits theaters, though...

This could be a "red band" trailer

    by billbrasky2620

Sorry about the other posts. Feel free to remove them if at all possible. Anyway, there are two types of movie trailers, recognizable by the background color of the "This movie has been rated such and such by the MPAA" screen. The "Green band" kind are suitable for all audiences and can run in front of any movie. The red band kind can only run in front of an R-rated movie, and can have profanity and nudity. So a little blowjob joke shouldn't really be a problem. This is an old old gag though, that goes back to the first "Police Academy" movie. The fact that half the cast didn't return for this movie is a little worrying, but I guess everyone who is actually funny did.

It won't work. Dammit, + I was looking forward to that. The first AP is 2nd only to "Road Trip" as the greatest summer teen sex romp ever. Having said that, this is still probably a wait-for-the-video movie. Nobody needs to waste cinema dollars on some silly fun like this. Out.

American Pie 1 didn't do it for me. The second one made me run into the theater 3 times and the third one looks just as good. Congrats Weitz Bros.

    by dru

Yay! It worked. You gotta love movies; where something like that can happen + nobody bats an eye. The girl should've been in tears + there should've been at least 1 guy giving Jim a sly wink + thumb's up. Better yet, some angry chick turning to her dapper boyfriend + screeching: "See?! That's WHY I've never done it, you pig!" We live in a sad world. Thank goodness there's mindless fun movies like this to ground us all + remind everyone that there's always something to laugh about. "Take sex for example: look at the RIDICULOUS faces you people make mid-coitus." "Sex is a joke in Heaven?" "The way I understand it, it's mostly a joke down here too." Out.

This could be attached to R-rated movies. This is no worse than the original American Pie trailer. Just like that one we get the point without showing the point.

I have a newfound respect for Eugene Levy after seeing him in A Mighty Wind. I mean, he took what could have potentially been just another zany improv creation and turned it into a moving character that, I swear, had people in the theater crying at the end of the movie. I honestly see him now in a whole new light.
I still won't see American Wedding.

    Re: Levy in Mighty Wind

    by unwell_arena

I must take a moment to second the previous poster. Levy was just incredible in Mighty Wind, giving the film an emotional depth I never would have expected from a Guest mockumentary. Still not sure if that was actually him singing, but I strongly doubt I'll appreciate any performance this year nearly as much. "We should all be so happy" indeed.

    Levy

    by horatio alger

I'll third the barrage of Eugene Levy praise. His characterization of Mitch Cohen was incredible, it gave the movie something that none of Guests previous films had and that was an honest to God heart. There were people crying in the theatre I was at too, great performance, great movie.

    Why, Willow, Why?

    by jimmy jazz

Alysson Hannigan is one of the most unique and talented comedic actors we have in these benighted days. She is consistantly the best thing in whatever she appears in. Of all the Buffy Alumni, she is the one with the best chance of having a successful post-ME career. She made the second American Pie movie nearly watchable and seems to be the only bright spot of this tripe as well. But this is far beneath her. It's a pity that the art of comedy writing has been nearly been wiped out with an onslaught of juvenile sleaze and smarm. I can only imagine what a REAL comedy writer like Billy Wilder of Preston Sturges could have done with this girl. I hope this movie is successful for her sake so she can move on to better things. She deserves better than these lowbrow crapfests. I wonder if Wes Anderson or the Coen brothers need a redhead?

I can't help it. I love this franchise.

    by empyreal0

It's dirty, yet very sweet and endearing all at the same time. And really, that's what sets it apart from all the general lame dirtiness out there. You know... I think I'll want to see this. I was worried. Not so much anymore. I was worried about Pie 2, and that movie proved itself to be just as endearing as the first. MUCH better looking than "Just Married," which did not appeal to me in the least, even with just about every single one of my friends getting married this past few years. God I love these movies.

Hopefully this will be her break-out movie role after Buffy ends. I'd really like to see her career move onto the movie screen regularly, and see her play roles other than for the Willow/Michelle type of character she's been getting typed for.

Or remember hearing something about everyone else showing up in cameo but just Jim, Finch, Michelle, Stifler and Jim's Dad being the main focus of the film. With this and the website, that seems to be pretty consistent.
