Buh-Bye BUFFY (updated)

I am – Hercules!!

If one needed any confirmation that “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” would indeed cease production for good in a month or two, that confirmation can be found in this morning’s Hollywood Reporter..

Sarah Michelle Gellar, who essays the title role, is “in negotiations” to star in the MGM feature “Romantic Comedy.” It’s set to start shooting this August, and that’s when “Buffy” would normally be before cameras.

Don’t let the “in negotiations” part throw you. If negotiations are being reported in the trade papers, 99 times out of 100 it’s already a done deal.

Officials at Mutant Enemy, “Buffy’s” production company, have indicated that while the adventures of the slayer’s friends may continue, on the WB’s “Angel” or another spinoff, the title “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” would be retired with Gellar’s departure.

Word has it that Buffy will not die a third death in the Joss Whedon-scripted series finale expected to air May 20, leaving the door open for a) Gellar guest appearances (should “Angel” continue and/or another Buffiverse spinoff appear next season) and b) a potential “Buffy” motion picture franchise.

“Buffy” fans in the Greater Los Angeles area should save the expected finale date, May 20, and watch this space. We at Ain’t It Cool are already feverishly slaving to engineer a liquor-soaked “Buffy” send-off at a club here in Hollywood. We’ll announce details once we’re certain UPN won’t change its mind about the airdate.

UPDATE: It'll be an invitation-only event, and we actually have the choice of two different-sized venues -- so if you live around here and harbor a strong desire to watch the finale with a lot of like-minded people (instead of your stupid "Charmed"-obsessed boyfriend), forward your name - and perhaps level of enthusiasm - to this special email address ASAP:

    Please please please...

    by godric

Please don't continue this show without its lead actor. Please let it rest with fond memories. Even if you come up with an equally intriguing character, like Doggett on the X-Files, the show won't be a same and will die a shameful death. RIP Buffy.

    Who Cares

    by KneelBeforeZod

Honestly, this show sucks. I don't understand what certain geeks are talking about. This show is not that clever, not that popular, and is based on a shitty movie. Good-bye, good riddance.

My god, I'm... I'm... FIRST!! Hot damn!!

    by Movie freak

Just checked this thingie out only to see that nobody posted yet so I decided to give it a go! Better hope nobody else posts something before me... fuckers!! Anyway, Buffy ending huh? Well, it's been a pretty good run. The Willow turned bad episodes are just done here in Belgium so I've got some eps to go but they'll be airing that final season in september so I gotta wait for a while. Anyway!! Sock it to ya!!

Any liquor soaked send-off for the Buffster is fine by me. Sad to see her go but I guess it's better than seeing SMG and the show grow tired and stale like 'The X-Files'.

Will be the end of her career

Sarah Michelle Gellar is great in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, but I'm not interested in seeing her in a movie.

    Good run

    by jerkstore

It's a good time to finish the show. Four Great seasons, (1-4..I don't care what anyone says, season 4 was great, and the funniest season from begining to end), Two good seasons (5 and & 7), and well one bad one, Season 6. It had it's run and now it's over. This will give time for Joss to concentrate more on Angel, which is frankly the better show. Thanks for the memories, we will see you on DVD.

    I wish Buffy would die

    by boanerges

Ever since her second resurrection it seems to me she would be better off dead. I have been tired of Buffy the character for awhile but I am still a big fan of the show and the Buffyverse. I have been ready for a "Faith the Vampire Slayer" series for a long time so it better happen.

Glad to see Buffy will go out on a high note...

    by Damitol

This season started out great and got a bit slow after the Christmas break, but last week's episode sets up what could be an amazing finish. Although any given season produced some classic episodes, I would personally give 2, 3, and this season accolades as the strongest and most consistent. Even as a long time fan, I was beginning to wonder during last season if Buffy should have stayed buried, but this season has been both strong and fun overall - a nice send off for a series destined to live on in reruns for a few years. Hmmmm.... with Buffy, Farscape and Futurama all airing their last episodes over the next couple of months, my nasty DVD habit will be the main reason I even own a TV.

sad but looking forward to where the buffyverse will go next

    by Demosthenes2

i don't care what anyone says, yeah season 6 was meandering and depressing, but season 5 was so climactic that they had to spend the next in the tragic aftermath of it rather than trying to outdo itself with an even more powerful nemesis than glory, and it was unlike any other season, making it interesting for me anyway. season 7 is shaping to be the best since season 3, and i'm happy that it'll go out with a bang unlike x-files, ally mcbeal, etc. still, it gets me a little peeved that smg never came out and said she was hanging up her stake but sneaked in this movie deal before announcing her departure, whatever... i hope she does do guest appearances despite rumors she doesn't get along too well with some of the cast in whatever spinoff may be in store and angel (which better not be ending this season too, grrrrrr...)

    by PlantBoy!

See this movie! It's Gellar's best role! All Buffy fans will LOVE it! See it as soon as it comes out and see it often, so we--uh, I mean THEY--can topple that bastard Cameron and his little sinking ship movie!

All you need is a little Faith. It's time for a change anyway.

    by Fuckleberry Hinn

Really. Buffy has moped and whined for years now. It's become a little one-note. And after she tried to willingly, intentionally kill all her friends (the asylum episode), I lost all respect for the character. It wasn't like she was under anyone's control. She had two choices, her Buffy life with her friends or a normal life with her friends dead. She chose the latter. Fucking bitch. Kill Buffy off for good this time. So go away, Sarah. It won't be long before your doing straight to video shit with the cast of Party of Five and praying for Scooby-Doo 10. Your husband's hot, though. Stupid and hot. You bitch.

Buffy's Ending? I Sad To See it Go, Truly A Bright Spot In TV La

    by The Founder

As much as I'm a fan of Buffy, i think it's time to go out on a positive note. Their's only so many episodes that can retold. Buffy is indeed enjoyable tv, but it has been on for like 8 years, so its time to bow out gracefully, instead of being cancelled due to poor ratings. I expect we'll get a Buffy movie up on the big screen in the future, which would be great. I hope Buffy ends on a happy and fun note, and not depressing and all doom doom full of gloom. Buffy will be missed by me.

  • Feb. 21, 2003, 4:09 p.m. CST

    So long

    by 10th_Muse

Unfortunately, I never go into this show, even though I saw an episode here and there with friends, and thought it was pretty entertaining. I feel bad for the Buffy fans. But people are right - end it now before it becomes a pathetic parody of itself, like XFiles did. I didn't want Xfiles to end - I really didn't - but I wish now that it had ended before they introduced the new characters. Now on to new ideas. Werewolves. How about a show about werewolves?

  • They do not set it in Sunnydale and the characters on Angel and Buffy are only recurring. Let Faith start fresh. I think it would be interesting if she was forced to wander around like the classic Fugitive shows. "The fugitive", "The Hulk" and "Kung Fu". It would be cool to have a renegade slayer who is still sought by the police and the watcher's council (assuming maybe there are some survivors) who is forced to always be on the run, and to stumble into a different town each week, all the time dealing with redemption, her power, and responsibility. Remember how cool the character of Faith was when she switched bodies with Buffy? She wanted to flee, but couldn't turn away from the responsibilities of the slayer. THAT would be an interesting show.

Just kidding. It's nice to have something on TV that's not just another carbon-copy cop drama, embarassingly bad laughtrack sitcom, or reality game show. But in all honesty, it's about time to end it. No need to drag things out until they're unbearable. Kill it while it's still healthy. Let things stew a while. Come up with a really good movie concept in a few years. Angel too. Angel's turned into one big greek tragedy with kids fucking parents and the end of the world. Yadda yadda yadda. Kill em off before they become the next "Charmed", because heavens know that show became an absolute abortion in no time flat. At least I've got my Smallville.

    by Noriko Takaya

That way, fans can be left with fond memories and movies can still be made since the show will still be popular--espacially if they wait a few years before starting the films. Note the contrast with X-Files, which the idiot network just had to *milk* to friggin' DEATH. The way things are now an X-Files movie would probably crater harder than Nemesis. It's good to see Joss has brain power enough to not let this happen to Buffy. Toppu o Nerae!

    Faith is Buffy's Boba Fett

    by spikendruscilla

Think about it. The reason so many of you are crying out for a Faith spin-off is that she's a cool character but that's mainly because she's only been in a hand full of episodes. She's mysterious just like Boba Fett was in Star Wars, but as soon as you put her in a weekly series, you know what she becomes? Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The mystery is gone and next year this time this talkback will be about how much Faith sucks now, but she used to be cool, just like Boba Fett. Good nite.

My revenge on all the people who said...

    by The Tao of Joe

Fuck this show, referring to a show which was canceled that I liked, (i.e. Freaks and Geeks) only to go on and demand that instead of news about that show, that they get more buffy news. Actually, it doesnt even need to be an article on a canceled show, you clowns do it on talk backs for movie news too. I am glad this show is canceled. It was not a good show in any sense, all of the actors performed in a way very akin to a high school production about lesbianism that I saw when I was 18. The damn thing was nothing more than a Lisa Frank styled landscape turned sour by poorly realized ghouls and monsters with actors who took everything too seriously. I mean think about it, after someone returns from the dead twice, and people have their hearts broken in relationships with evil beings, there is nothing to take seriously. I mean living and dying would be trivial. There would be no reason for sadness or emotions. If someone died, my response, in their situation would be, what is death but something we could come back from? Whats worse is the legions of dolts who have penned "novels" and "scripts" in the same vein as this nonsense. None of the actors on the show besides the chick who played the flute girl on american pie are really worth a damn. They have all made movies that sucked, and were not helped out by the fact that they suck miserably too. Gellar will be a hasbeen in ten years, slaving away at conventions that you guys will force your children to go to in costumes. This show was never nothing more than a hard on in some dweeb's underwear, and an obsession for homosexual men and straight women, who as a rule, keep the stupidest crap on television on the air for an eternity. When its canceled, I for one shall dance with glee because their will not be any more boobs on this web page demanding buffy news (unless they make a godforsaken movie), as if the damn show doesnt have enough bandwith elsewhere dedicated solely to it alone. Now when are we going to get some Shield news? I am really sorry, but it had to be said. Also, I would like to point out that I have nothing against homosexual males, as I used to work with them in show business. They just like this show, and are probably the only ones who watch it for justifiable reasons.

One wishes that every great show could have the decency to end its run on a high note. Despite what some people think, Seinfeld did just that. Of course MASH did, too. And now, Buffy will do the same. No matter what happens with spin-offs or additions to Angel's cast, the show, "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," (as in, the greatest show ever) will always have ended at the right time. I have no doubt that what Joss has in store for us will be nothing short of mind-blowingly amazing.

    ending while still wonderful...

    by viola123

Is what all shows wish they could do. "Buffy," if it ends this season, will end the way it should -- while still on top. Maybe the ratings have gone down, but I don't believe the quality has. It's still one of the best shows on TV. For me, the best, and this season, it's all coming together. This past week was super and I know the coming shows will be as well. I cannot wait to see a certain one in March! I'm proud of them for ending it on their terms. Even before the ratings thing, they were considering ending it so I like to think it's all come to this point for a reason. We fans benefit. Imagine our DVD collection, seasons 1 through 7 -- what a perfect series that will be! And just to say it, hoping for the best for Spuffy.

Given that tATu didn't break out in the States until after the announcement of BoP's cancellation, I assume the shots of the asshole standing by himself on top of the clockworks, howling, and the fight scene between the stunt doubles who didn't look anything like their characters were all pickups shot later to make the scene match the song. It's a pity the heroines didn't finish the episode with a victory lesbo threesome, accompanied by a reprise of the tATu song. Oh, well.

    The Best Show On Earth!!!!!!

    by Angelus54

Buffy the Vampire Slayer is the best show on Earth! Not just Earth, in this universe! I am a 14 year old freshman guy who has watching Buffy since its beginning, since I was in third grade. This show has touched me in so many ways. At 9 years old, I cried watching Becoming Part 2. Because of my youth, I did not understand some of the episodes, which is why I have all of them on tape and getting all the DVDs! I have watched ever episode of Buffy The Vampire Slayer atleast 7 times. When "The Gift" aired, I could not stop crieing. I cried even after that time slot, when I was watching the escape from Pylea, during "There's No Place Like Plrtz Glrb". This show has taught me so much and has changed me. If I never started watching BTVS, I would have never been introduced into the internet spoiler community of Tensai, Fraz, Wanda, Leoff, Loey, etc. I would never have started to write Buffy fanfic (and I'm getting pretty good :). I would never have spent all those hours taping BTVS Pics all over my wall taped from my third copy of each BTVS magazine issue (1 is for cutting out, 1 is for reading, and 1 is a collectable that is not touched). I admit it, I am a Buffy Freak! There is not one day in the past seven years that I have not thought of this show. And it's spinoff, Angel, is great too. Angel Season 4 is the best season yet, it just keeps getting better and better. The spinoff, of a spinoff, of a movie is amazing! Back to BTVS, I can't imagine what I would be like right now if I was never introduced to BTVS. I would probably be a completely different person and have a whole different perspective on almost everything. Like many, I am a Buffy Obsessor, knowing things from Charisma Carpenter's favorite color, to Seth Green's salary during season 2. The fact that this show is leaving will truly upset me soo much! I am looking forward to a Faith/Dawn/Potential/Any Cast Member Spinoff, but it will just not be the same, it will always be second or third best (Depending how good it is compared to Angel). God Bless Joss Whedon, this wonderful mastermind. I imagine that if an episode like "The WIsh" occured in real life, and someone wished Joss Whedon was never born, the world could be a totally different place. When I would hear the word vampire, I would probably think of some lame dude in a mysterious cape always biting someone. 90210 started the whole teen drama thing, which gave Buffy the ability to start the whole WB Teen Drama, which led to Charmed, Dawson's Creek, Felicity, Roswell, Angel, Dark Angel, Gilomore Girls, Smallville, Birds of Prey, Everwood, etc. and many more. I wish I could go to Los Angeles to the "goodbye gathering" but unfortunately, I am in NY. If there was any possible way I could go, I would, but sadly, I can not. I am so happy this show turned out the way it is and I am so proud of everyone in Mutant Enemy. Goodbye, Fairwell, and Good Luck!

To The Tao of Joe, or whatever the hell ur name is!

    by Angelus54

What is your problem. This is not talkback for your dumb crap about why you think this show is bad! Everyone who comes to your message probably hates your guts and hopes you come to a death of some horrible disease or a painful car crash! I am tired of you people getting mad that many like Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Why don't you back off?! And go post a bad talkback somewhere else. The fact that you took all that time just to write about a show you hate, when people are expecting kudos to the show, well, it just makes you a lifeless "maggot." (-Kennedy) The fact that you don't have the desire of reality relationships in point of views of many, and the fact that you dislike these relationships dealing with the supernatural, does not mean you get to come here and give crap talk back that you don't even have the right to say, since you proabably have only seen two episodes anyway! If you watch many episodes of Buffy, maybe then you will have the right to say bad things about the show, but no here! Not like that nasty passage you wrote before!

    From the Set...

    by BigEddie Calzone

...honestly, there is nobody on the set who has the energy for this show anymore. They want it to die. Badly. Nick Braydon is on callbacks for a sitcom, others are out finding work. It's over. Episode 17 (episode after next) is the Spike pilot. If you want this as a series, send letters to UPN and Mutant Enemy and cream all over it. Cum a second time, too, because even Marsters isn't that hot to do it. He wants to spend more time with his family and doing a show all by yourself isn't the way to do it. Remember --- the show all about Spike is your shot. If you love it, let 'em know. If you hate it, send 'em hateful screeds and tell them to never, ever, ever let it happen. (Mutant Enemy is so tired of this show you wouldn't believe it. The bit about the cast not getting along with certain other blonde cast members is very true.) Eliza Dushku doesn't want a series either, so guys, it's time to kiss it all g'bye.

  • Feb. 22, 2003, 3 a.m. CST

    Yo Eddie!

    by Angelus54

That is bullshit! Eliza has said multiple times that she would be interested in a Faith Spinoff. News has it that their most likely (70%) chance will be one, so don't make up that you are from ME, cuz although some stuff you said might be true, other stuff is just lies. And the characters all get along and they are friends, no one is having issues with Sarah Michelle Gellar. If their were fights between cast members, then they would have left like Doherty on Charmed, and they wouldn't have given 110% to make this show its best. People at ME are not tired of the wonderful show!

Probably not Faith, as a series

    by Prof. Pop-Cult

I have friends-of-friends who work as writers for TV series (one of them is a writer for "24"; Maurice penned last Tuesday's episode), and while none of them write for Buffy, these people do know those who do. The word is, none of the actors are too enthused about sticking around for another series. Even MT is looking into getting back into movies. The only possibility is that if Angel returns next season, you just might see Spike, Willow and or Xander show up for a guest appearance or two, in order to help boost the ratings for that series. (Hannigan would probably do it, since her fiance stars in that show.) As for a Faith series, it doesn't look that good. There are concerns that such a show might not have longevity due to Dushku's lukewarm consideration of this possibility -- she won't dismiss the idea of doing it, but it's not on the top of her list of goals, nor is it on Mutant Enemy's. Supposedly, starting all over again with something like Fray is being considered, but then there's the matter with UPN: The word is that they may not be interested in working with Whedon again anytime soon. They may not even take on Angel should the WB cancel it this season.

I think its a Faith show or nothing

    by spike fan

Charachters like Dawn and the SITS are just not that interesting. As for Spike I love the charachter and while JM is capable enough to front his own show the charachter is not. Faith has the charachter/the actress and popularity with the fans. And more importantly the dramatic and storyline interest to work. Whedon needs to move his ass and get Eliza back.

Im fairly sure no one will pay much attention to this BUT

    by Bored Man

The problem with buffy is season 6. Character development was hackneyed and over done. Lets see. . . 1. Buffy/Spike: this was ridiculous. The whole buffy resurection and her coming from heaven and whinning all the time was horrible. Tabula Rasa was the only cool ep, becuase she forgot all that bs. Spike loving buffy was cool because buffy could NEVER love him back, BUT now she sleeps with him out of depression? Can we say messed up. Buffy comes off looking like a weak-minded slut. 2. Willow: Tara dies and willow decided that its time to destroy the world. COME ON! What part of willow's character made us believe that she would do that? Not to mention that the use of magic was extremely overdone. Even before, the DRUG/MAGIC metaphor was heavy-handed at best. Good god THIS ISNT AN AFTER SCHOOL SPECIAL MARTI!!!!!!!!!!! 3. Xander: Will he ever grow up? Will he ever grow a pair? Will he ever do anything other than get thrown against the wall? In last episode Dawn (16 year old little girl) was more bad ass than he was. Anya was cool in season 4, overdone in 5, and stupid in 6. Why couldnt they get married? Why did everything in season 6 have to end in disaster? Season 2 with Angel going evil wasn't this depressing and he MURDERED jenny. I guess thats what happens when a no talent hack like Marti Noxin has any kind of control.

The Tao of Joe? While it is a statistically known fact that yes homosexual males and straight women like Buffy, it is also a fact that men who don`t like Buffy, or infact hold large grudges against the show for very infinitesimally small reasons, tend to have TINY PEE-PEES. I`m talking about short-stock cock here. Little wingdanglers. Chopsticks for Midgets. I`m sure your intimately familiar with all the popular medical terms for the condition.. You have to live with it after-all. Thankfully no women have yet. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....c`mon people laugh with me here. It`s funny. Ha. Ha. Hee-hee-ha. Giggle. Snort. He Ha. He ha. Ha. Ho! hee! Ha! Har! Hunnu-hunnu-hunnu-Ha! hee! Hee! Hor! Ha! Hallah! Ha! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. You have a tiny penis Tao! It`s the size of a smurf`s nose! Your Mom saw you naked and asked why you only had one pubic hair! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Oh yeah. To "The Real Fett"? Buffy is indeed gay. Gay means happy. You on the other hand are sad. Really, really sad. I would be too if I was 45 year old virgin wanking off to pictures of Avril Lavigne from Tiger Beat. Thankfully I`m a fan of Buffy and therefore Gay and/or a straight woman. And also since I am a fan of Buffy it means either I am a FABULOUS gay man who possesses a gigantic penis that makes my male lovers cry to GOD when they see it, or I am a trendy and popular female who has fantastic sex with a good job and smokes a lot of weed while dancing to Mindless Self Indulgence. While that is not as cool as being a sad, pathetic virgin, it will have to do. Before I forget? The phrase Jumping the Shark? It has officially Jumped the Shark. Don`t ever use it. God. It was developed by a weenie for weenies. Oh yeah and another thing? Buffy Ruled. Say it twice. At least twice. Buffy Ruled. And Emmys are for losers.

Angelus54 or whatever the hell your name is...

    by The Tao of Joe

The reason I took the time to come here and say what I said is a result of all the frustration I have felt over the years when buffy fans would come into a non buffy chat, and say Fuck (whatever the subject was), we want some buffy news because (whatever the subject was) sucks anyways! It didnt even have to be a coaxal tb. I remember one time, there was a christopher walken interview, and some buffy fan came on and said "Christopher Walken sucks! When are we going to get some buffy news! Sarah Michelle Gellar is much better than walken ever will be!" Now, I'll agree, Gellar is sexier than Walken ever will be, and perhaps in the warped logic of a buffy fan (sexy=great talent and ability) they were right, but Sarah Michelle Gellar will never be able to kiss Walken's ass with a ten foot ladder on her best day. The man's excrement is better than her, and it is because of that person who said that, that I have forever taken up arms on this website against buffy fans. I in fact am right now set to avenge Paul Ruebens (who ironically was featured in the Buffy movie) against a moronic radio dj here in raleigh north carolina because he made some joke about how the man was going to help michael jackson molest children. The man is going down, because I think Reubens got a raw deal, and Big Adventure is one of my top two favorite films of all time (seriously). In march, he is going to be one of the judges at a chili cookoff where they are paying the entrants 100 dollars just for entering. Now I am going to get the opportunity not only to feed this bastard a bowl full of nothing besides dogfood and beans, and the beauty part of it all is, I am going to get paid to do it. I am a wrathful person, and I have literally laughed at one of my enemy's graves (a guy who died in a drunk driving accident). That, angelus, is what I am doing now. Oh, and uh, the first evil, or the real evil, or whoever you were (I forgot your name while I typed this talk back), you can say what you want about my genetailia (something I am glad you have no idea about), but the fact is, you have cried at least once in your life over a shitty show, and you have wasted your life.

    by narky

why take what some fans have said/done out on the show? Because a lot of what you said in your original post was just really really half-assed. "I mean think about it, after someone returns from the dead twice, and people have their hearts broken in relationships with evil beings, there is nothing to take seriously. I mean living and dying would be trivial. There would be no reason for sadness or emotions. If someone died, my response, in their situation would be, what is death but something we could come back from? " ----wow, thanks a lot genius. what do u think Season 6 was?? Have you ever even seen a full episode? Sorry, it's just that ignorance is really annoying.

even though there have been some fat vampires(Sunday's minion from the 4th season opener comes to mind), the reason most vampires aren't like that is because to become a vampire, another one has to "sire" you. Usually, they will sire you if you pique their interest or think you would make a good companion to their ilk. So it makes sense that most vampires aren't fat or ugly.------ and what do you mean it reminded you of 90210? you mean the fact that there have relationships and they happen to be teenagers? woah, call the cops. some heavy plagiarizing going on here.

    To The Tao Of Joe

    by Angelus54

OK, you might have had the right to prove your point there, but what about the fact that you hate relationships dealing with the supernatural, what is all that about? In the perspective of many, BTVS relationships so reality relationships mixed in with the supernatural. Sarah has said plenty of times that people like the show so much becuase it relates to so many people so easily. Just becuase there are vampires in it, does not mean that everything is a bunch of shitty emotions.

    by The Tao of Joe

I have seen five full episodes, and each of them were full of all this sentimental nonsense that I just don't buy when people are able to come back to life from the grave. I have read alot of science fiction and fantasy in my life time, and Buffy reminds me of really bad fantasy for the most part. I think that the whole pulp horror angle was kind of intentional, and thats cool, but when they take it seriously, its just lame. There is nothing half assed about it, thats just how I feel. Now, I want to apologize to you people for my total lack of empathy. If I didn't like buffy fans attacking christopher walken, I should not have acted like them and attacked buffy. I was just caught up in a silly ding dong the witch is dead kind of moment, and I lost control of myself. Its cool that you guys love this show, and that it has made an impact on your lives. I am sorry. Be cool, sincerly, joe scott

    MY 2CENTS

    by thevision

Looks like this is it! Good luck SMG, hopefully she'll come back and do the Buffy Movie- don't care what anybody says, will work and fans will tune in. Anyhoo, a Faith spinoff is something that can be done right: I agree, take the series to San Francisco or New York; Spike as her sidekick- Marsters is too damn appealing not to be included; the likable potential Kennedy as "slayer in training"; Principal Woods as "The Watcher," afterall he was raised by a Watcher after Spike killed his mother and the council is defunct; Andrew the reformed villain geek cuz the kid is annoyingly funny AND last but not least bring back Lindsey- after he left Wolfram and Hart, decided to become a pro-buono attorney, etc., good foil for Spike and romantic tension with Faith. Opinions?

San Fran? No! Faith in New Orleans? Yes! and Highlander: The R

    by SkiffyPup

No to San Francisco for Faith. Spelling already ruined it with his icky Kindred spew. New Oreans! Faith needs a gritty and dark place filled with danger.**** and VoR, the reason The Raven didn't work: They took a great concept and added a stupid COP buddy! Shot it on the cheap in Toronto with a bunch of recycled COP SHOW scripts. **** I do not have an interest in watching a cops and immortals show. Just like I didn't watch that cops and vampire-cop show based in Seattle... Boooorrrrrinnnngggg!**** Genre shows should never have copshow-esque center. ***** When I want to see great cop shows... I just watch "THE SHIELD"; which, BTW, is the BEST show on Television.**** I would like a "Shield" talkback too.

    by punto

those are good ideas.. Faith could wander the world with her best-friend-slash-bitch-from-jail solving misteries (in a ban with Oz as the Talking Dog). It was sad to see BoP gone.. They actually started the 'lesbian theme' about 5 episodes ago, with Diana's lab partner, and now that awkward tension between harley and helena.. wtf was that about?

Where do we go from here?

    by Jack Burton

I liked Joss's answer in that "100 Questions" article for "Is this the last season of Buffy? A: God I hope so." There is no where left to go that would have any kind of point. This season they are fighting the thing the Slayers were built to combat. For once Buffy is at a loss what to do. Whether Gellar returns or not, it should end here. They should kill a couple of the mains (Xander, and Willow would be my choice, simply because it would hit Buffy hardest) make the ending brutal, and then strip Buffy of the role of Slayer. Pass it to Faith or Kennedy. Either way, I don't want to see what happens. Do movies but end the mythology once and for all. I just hope like hell it doesn't drag on like the X-Files and then toss out an incomprehensible 2 hour episode to "wrap up" the loose threads, cheapening the whole original idea in the process. Did anyone honestly know what the hell was going on in X-Files by the end?

    TAO OF JOE!

    by Angelus54

I AGREE WITH YOU SO MUCH NARKY! TAO OF JOE IS REALLY HALF ASSED!!! If he ever has seen an interview of Joss Whedon talking about season 6, he would know that death was not something you could just come back from, and Joss Whedon proves it all the way till the end of the season. In the end of Afterlife, we knew how hard it was for Buffy to come back, Tao of Joe is just some idiot that is annoyed because people like BUffy and he dislikes it because he judges a book by its cover. He's just some dick that thinks BUffy is stupid because of the shows title and because emotions are mixed in with evil. Tao of Joe, plz never post anything on Buffy anywhere ever again because you probably don't know what hell the show is even about. Joe, if you knew about the show and actually watched it, maybe then you would be able to say some shit, but u know nothing, you are just some asshole that annoys people by coming onto AICN Talkback and writing bullshit.
