More Details On That Free AICN OLD SCHOOL Screening In Los Angeles This Wednesday Night!!

Published at:  Feb 11, 2003 5:10:20 PM CST

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

I’m so sorry about the delay in getting back to everyone about this. I was amazed by how many e-mails I got, and I’m sending the e-mail out right now to everybody who won the passes. That doesn’t mean all the seats are gone, though. Far from it. If you don’t get an e-mail by Tuesday night at midnight, then please... feel free to show up at the AMC Sherman Oaks 7 on Wednesday night. We’re showing the movie at 7:30, and I’m only holding a certain number of reserved seats. The rest are first come, first serve.

And if I didn’t send you a response, believe me... it’s nothing personal. I got about 500 responses just in the first day, all trying to win these 50 pairs of passes. I hope the rest of you turn up at the screening, because I want to make sure every single seat in the house is filled.

Remember... the theater is at 4500 Van Nuys Blvd, Sherman Oaks, CA, 91403. I’d advise you get there by about 6:00 if you aren’t confirmed for the screening, and for everyone who won passes, follow the directions in your confirmation e-mail and check in at the door by 6:45 at the very latest.

See you tomorrow, everybody!!

"Moriarty" out.

~as previously seen on the Daredevil TB~I visit this site each and every day. However, after reading about 2 million movie reviews I have come to only one conclusion. Apparently there will NEVER EVER be a movie that someone on this site likes, appreciates or admires. Nothing! Zero! Even if someone says they like a movie, they are compelled to follow their statement with something they HATED about the movie that always counter-balances it. Even great epic movies like Lord of the Rings or Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon get ripped a new asshole when AICN reviews them. The whole point of a review is to say if it is GOOD or BAD. If I paid attention to all of the reviews on this site, I wouldn't go see another movie ever again in my whole life! Plus! the only movies you people ever give props to are movies that were made years and years ago. Everyone creams over Empire Strikes Back, but if it came out tomorrow you'd all say it was a waste of time and to avoid it at all cost because Harrison Ford can't act, C3-PO is gay and Mark Hamil has an ass on his chin!

I went to the Old School screening last night. Met Moriarty. Cool guy. Kudos to AICN for scheduling these screenings. And may I remind anyone whining about how the screening wasn't at a spanking new gigaplex with Lucas ear-blowjob sound and Chavez Ravine seating, the screening was FREE. Get over yourselves. As for the film itself, sporadically funny but just as often painful (Farrell likes to show off his naked, pudgy, middle-aged body even more often than Mike Myers). No reason given to really care in the least about the college students our three older guys go to bat for with the dean (a funny Jeremy Piven, playing way against type). Characters also lacked consistency. Overall, the flick had kind of a slapdash feel to it. IMHO, Piven's movie PCU was cleverer. And I'll take a George Clinton musical appearance in a frat comedy over Snoop Doggy Dogg any day. Come to think of it, I'll take Otis Day and the Nights over Snoop. Old School is worth a DVD rental. Or a free screening. But be warned, ye geeks with girlfriends. This is NOT a date movie. Trust me. - Trader Groucho
