CLASH OF THE TITANS!! Where

Published at:  Oct 07, 2002 8:10:15 AM CDT

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

Sweet jumping Jesus. I have got to go to this show. No ifs, ands, or buts about it. This is going to be the Ragnarok of Comedy, and if I’m not there, I will be forced to set myself on fire. Repeatedly.

Check this out:

Harry/Gang-

Long time listener first time caller, just call me Jack Sawyer.

Went to the Mr. Show LIVE "Hooray for America" show at the lovely Warfield theatre in San Francisco last night, and they announced a benefit show they're doing with Kids in the Hall, Janeane Garafalo, and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog.

The details are RIGHT HERE!!

BTW- the show freakin rocked, catch it if you can if it comes near you.

Seriously. I will not rest until I have my ticket in my hand. I suppose Ticketmaster’s website would be step one. And since I posted this, that means I know before most of you... so maybe I can still get a seat!! BWAHAHAHAHAH!!

"Moriarty" out.

Seriously though, it's about damn time The Kids did something together again. Maybe this will lend a little impetus towards something those of us who aren't in SF can see...

    by el che'

OK, maybe that's a LITTLE overstated. But really, it's so hard to shock nowadays -- to truly "rock the boat". Triumph boarders on uncomfortable raunch, and comic genius. Now if only Rob can figure out how to keep that cigar in his mouth!

    by grillskill

The studio pulled a Blade Runner with Pootie Tang when they stuck a narration over the movie and hipped it up in editing with too much editing. The director, Louis C.K., is a regular contributor to Robert "Triumph" Smigel's TV Funhouse shorts, and has written for Conan, Chris Rock and The Dana Carvey Show. www.louisck.com

Every time I read news such as this, I hate Wisconsin that much more. Why couldn't my parents have fucked somewhere cool? Wisconsin of all places!!!! Anyway, I'm glad I got to see Mr. Show when they showed up in Madison last weekend (thank Bog for college towns!), even though we almost didn't make it to the show! McCormic...if you want Janeane you're gonna have to get through me first, bub. SWEET JEEBUS, do I want that woman! To those who don't think this is cool news, all I have to say is SHUT UP! You're stupid! You're not Kung Fu!!! Put yer foot jackets on and haul yer ass on out the door! Lastly, I finally saw FRAILTY last night and it was pretty damn good. That's all I got. Later.

    by mechaniferret

    Americans aren't funny, huh?....
Bob Odenkirk, David Cross, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Wes Anderson, Matt Groening, Farrally Brothers, The Wayans Brothers, Jeanane Garafalo, Will Ferrell, Jack Black, Jim Carey, Tom Kenny, Jill Talley, David Letterman, Conan O'Brien, Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, David Spade, Dennis Miller, Robert Wuhl(just kidding, someone please kill him!), Jon Stewart(and all of the correspondents on the Daily Show), Jimmy Kimmel, Adam Corrola, Dave Chapelle, Eddie Griffin, Seth McFarlane, Dave Atell, Space Ghost, blah blah blah. If you don't find at least a few of these people funny or the work they have done as funny, then you are a fucking retarded goat. There are SO MANY more funny Americans as well. I found The Kids in the Hall only mildly amusing. I do agree that The State needs to come to DVD. It was an extremely funny show and it's a shame that it's life was so short. I want to see a Ben Stiller Show DVD set with un-aired eps, commentary, bloopers, etc. as well. MF

    Triumph. Fad?

    by flyingcircus

Anybody think that Triumph has become too overexposed and will soon end up with the likes of Spuds McKenzie and the Chihuahua from the Taco Bell commercials? Max Hedroom? The Noid? In about two years, people will think you're a "dork" or a "geek" for laughing at the currently hilarious rantings of the insult comic. I love Triumph, but I'm afraid he's getting to big for his little doggie britches.

All you who came here for Clash of the Titan news, look here:

    by sith witch

Clash of the Titans is one of THE top movies ever! I loathe how everytime I bring it up, someone will invariably ask, "What about The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad, or Jason & the Argonauts?" I do not even consider the fact that the film is a Harryhausen FX spectacle. It would be like if someone mentioned the movie Psycho, and everybody always asked, "But what about Rope? Or The Thirty-Two Steps?" To me the likeness of the characters, the costumes, the design aside from the creatures, the locations, music, story, dialogue, acting, EVERYTHING about it is awesome. Sure the Harryhausen creatures are cool, but they are not the ONLY things by which to judge the film. They just as well could have been makeup and costumes and I would love it as long as they were not cheesy. Anyway, I cannot believe Harry has never posted about this before, but some studio is actually moving forward with remaking it in a ridiculous move! Here are the gory details: http://cinescape.com/0/Editorial.asp?aff_id=0&this_cat=Movies&action=page&obj_id=35581 and

    by inwosuxred

I'm guessing Mr. Show will just "do" Hooray for America, which I just saw. It was really good, but I didn't really enjoy seeing the old material or the 3x1-1 song from the movie, or even the really forced use of Ronnie Dobbs. I am under the impression Kids in the Hall are really ONLY doing old material on tour. Is there any indication that this or the next Mr. Show tour will have new material? Does anyone know of any sites or boards that have individual Hooray for America show reviews? I'd like to know if anything changes from show to show.

    by krillian

I'm okay with a Clash of the Titans remake. I saw it recently on TV, and hoo-boy, is Harry Hamlin bad! Th special effects looked 1950's even though the film was made after Empire Strikes Back. And it really fudged with Greek mythology. let's see an update. Why not? Better special effects, better cast. It could be cool. Clive Owen as Perseus, Rade Sherbedgia as Zeus, Claire Danes as Andromeda, Jessica Lange as Athena, Tim Roth as Calibas, Pete Postlethwaite in the Burgess Meredith role, Debra Winger as Cassiopeia. It'd be fun!
