Pics from the Set of NEVERLAND starring Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Dustin Hoffman & Julie Christie!!!

Published at:  Aug 19, 2002 5:34:57 AM CDT

Hey folks, Wo Jiao Harry with some nice pics from the set of NEVERLAND - the J.M. Barrie story, which hopefully will be a great companion piece to go with that PETER PAN project that Revolution has. Although the cast on this one is powerfully compelling. What are the chances of this film not sucking? Pretty darn good, it comes from the director of MONSTER'S BALL - Roger Ebert's fave film from last year. And a cast that has Johnny Depp, Kate Winslet, Dustin Hoffman, Julie Christie, Radha Mitchell and Kate Maberly - the little girl from THE SECRET GARDEN as Wendy Darling! Here's the pics and where to get more!!!

Hi there Harry,

Ryan here from The Flik Spot. A friend of mine who works for a popular UK womens mag got me some cool pics (possibly the first) from the upcoming film "Neverland" starring Johnny Depp as Peter Pan author J.M. Barrie.  I must say, it does look very "Peter Pan," right down to the dog.

Hope these are of some interest. There are more pics over at The Flik Spot

    Flaming Harry. A true first.

Is this a Heathers tribute with the animation in the corner? The Neverland film sounds pretty interesting with such a great cast. We'll see how it ends up. . .

Sorry, just kidding. Anyway, this movie looks like it will be interesting and every movie I've seen with Kate Winslet has been good. Not to mention Johnny Depp who continues to surprise me as an actor. He's come a long way since 21 Jump Street.

But how literary will this project be?

    by chilli kramer

Barrie was supposedly a 'kailyard' writer in Scotland, that is to say he wrote maudlin, sentimental, tales. However, his work was more complex. Peter Pan, the boy who refused to grow up, was in some ways a picture of the Scottish literary scene which was mired in 'kailyard' writings instead of more grown up works. There's more to P Pan than Disney, you know... oh, and I'd also like to see Kate get 'em out.

  • Because they're splendid ta-ta's, that's why. Though she's a swell actress, too. And I like Johnny Depp. Actually, I have very little to say, it's pretty damn early. Forgive me.

    Julie Christie photo?

    by darth voice

Just to let you know, there were no photos of Julie Christie that I saw. Maybe I'm looking at the wrong site, but I'm sure she's still hot today. I was just watching Fahrenheit 451 the other day, and she was really hot back then.

    More Info on Neverland

    by discoverkate

Those pictures were featured in OK! magazine a few weeks ago. There were 9 in total, but I think you all get the gist of it. Julie Christie is actually appering as Kate Winslet's mum in this movie. If you'd like to see more pics or read more about the project I have a page on it here:

...! Sweet merciful crap- give the score to Danny Elfman! Tell me he will not weave something magical for this film. This is something we have all been waiting for, yes?! Johnny Depp rocks my sad little world. That's all; out.

    Neverland

    by hanka

I'm delighted that this story is being made for the big screen and with such wonderful actors as Johnny Depp and Julie Christie participating.
Does anyone remember seeing the BBC production of "The Lost Boys"? (No, not the horror film) It was the dramatisation of Barrie's involvement with the Llewellyn-Davies Boys. It was written by Andrew Birkin (yes, brother of Jane) - starred Ann Bell (later Tenko fame) as Mrs LD, Ian Holm (yes, Bilbo Baggins recently) as JM Barrie and Tim Piggot-Smith (later, the Chief) as Mr LD. It was a beautiful production by Louis Marks and doesn't get any airing on either the BBC or the cable channels. The youngster playing Michael (on whom Peter Pan was based) was perfect for the part.
I do hope the film lives up to the original production whose title has lost all charm since it was used by the horror film company. How come I know so much?
I worked as the Producer's assistant on the trilogy. It was at this time that I learned much about JMB and always take comfort when suffering from a cold - his anecdote "Twasn't the coughin' that killed me - twas the coffin they carried me off in" always cheers me up.
