    endless chase scenes?

    by randxx

It looks like it's just an endless chase scene movie. That's exhausting.

People FLAME without rhyme or reason sometimes...

    by hemonk

My goodness, if you read a glowing review from Harry it's cause some exec threw free junk at him and/or gave him a blow job... if you read him panning a movie it's cause he didn't get free stuff or was refused a blow job... I just don't get you guys...

For me I liked the movie, but thought something was missing... I went in with all the expectations of hearing people like Ebert love it and this and that and just felt cold. Maybe that's how I was supposed to feel, maybe not. What I think most of you guys are missing is that either A) You haven't even seen the film and are just bashing Harry cause it's hunting season... Or B) He actually disagreed with you so he must be wrong.

I for one will at least watch this movie again before I decide whether or not this is either better or worse then the film I saw a few hours ago. The personal attacks though against Harry are ridiculous. You hear the same 4 movies over and over and they make you believe he's reviewed 4 movies in 4 years... Armaggedon, Godzilla, TPM and AOTC. I mean shit even I have to admit I actually liked AOTC (I took the romance in as a comedy:D).

Seriously though tastes are tastes and if your not even going to mention his reasons for not liking the movie maybe you should stop trying to flame the talkback boards... How bout quite possibly saying why you disagree instead of regurgitating the same lame bias...

I still don't get why all the haters even come to the site if they hate Harry so much, your only increasing his revenue :).

  • So Harry didn't like it. Big Woop. I totally disagree however. MR to me was a blast from start to finish, and compared to the rest of the summer drek thats been released so far...yes a MASTERPIECE. My favorite film from Steven by far...but a HUGELY entertaining one and miles ahead of the competition.
Frankly none of Harry's criticisms really held any wieght for me. I totally "got" the pre-meditated/crimes of passion scenario...and if you see the movie, so will you.
Peter Stormare's doctor WAS a nut job...but not the total cartoon Harry says.
To me there was real emotion in John Anderton's character, and I did FEEL for his situation. Morton's portrayal of the "Pre-Cog" was haunting and sad. Mr. Sydow's fatherly figure was both sincere and sinister.
The set design...in a word BREATHTAKING....and the direction from Steven was as assured as ever.
I had a great time watching this dark, yet uplifting thrill ride with a message.
Hey man...Harry has an opinion, this time, I just think hes wrong. God knows I've trashed a film that others loved in my time.
My advice...go see it an judge for yourself.
    Peace out,
    Regan

Good, but like AI, it flinches.

Spielberg finds an easy way out of the argument about the morality of Pre-Crime. Conveniently, the entire system requires that three young people be subjected to psychological horrors beyond imagination, and even more conveniently, the audience is repulsed not by the concept of arresting would-be murderers before they commit their atrocities, but by the creepiness of the conditions in which the "pre-cogs" are kept. It was a cowardly move, and I really want the next movie dealing with similar subject matter to base the whole Pre-Crime concept on computers instead of tossing in a haunted young girl to provide an easy escape route. Also, the last 30 minutes of the movie are cutting-room-floor material, set to a much lower standard of filmmaking than the rest, in all respects. If I walked out a half-hour earlier, I'd have seen a MUCH better movie. Just like AI.

    One more thing.

    by douglasah

I neglected to mention that the chicken-shit finale lifts a scene where a mighty-damn-convenient "plot twist" takes place, almost unaltered from a far superior movie. I mean to an almost plagiaristic extent.
