i hate when harry tries to be cool. guess what Harry, the only reason you are getting free drinks is cause they look at you and they think that you are gonna clear out the buffet. You are not cool, nobody in Vegas likes you. I'm sure at one point you were kind of cool, now fame has jaded you and you think that you are better than everyone. Guess what? You run a website(a damn good one at that), that's it, that is all you could ever amount to, stop trying to be who you are not

alright, i've heard nothing about this movie and now im interested, but MY question is what the hell is up with being so mean to harry??? (directed toward 14byit)...i mean you act like he did something cruel to you personally! geez, lay off! give the man a break, he has a pretty damn cool job, ur prolly just jealous!

This movie sounds GREAT. I am a huge fan of The Hustler and The Color of Money, I can't wait to see this(how about a list of festivals it will be playing at). Stop being so mean to Harry. What have you all done with your life?

I have only recently become a regular user of this sight, and used to wonder why people were always having a go at Harry for liking every movie he saw. After his review of Poohole junkies

Got cut off there... anyways, this film has been out on video and dvd here in Australia for a few weeks, and despite Harrys drooling review, isn't very good. It's plot is tired and predictable, its character not only two dimensional but irratating and some of the talented actors roped in are terribly underused. While the pool scenes provide some life (the lead actor, director etc certainly can play some stick, but not offer any real emotional range other than angry and irritated, sad and irritated or just irritated) the love story actually had me laughing at some points. If it's a decent pool movie your after try the NZ flick Stickmen.

Seriously, I've seen it in the new release section of my video store. I'm going down there now to hire it.

Sets up some wackiness at your local airport.

Every friggin review i read that is written by Harry gets me pumped. You could describe the Queen of Englands bowel movement and make it interesting (although that is very interesting in itself). Walken and Palminteri in a pool movie - cant fuckin wait.

Why is it that half of Harry's reviews are of movies that will never see the light of day in a theater? Not that this is a bad thing. If a movie is good, then it deserves all the free publicity it can get. I just find it interesting................... On a related note, I have a legitimate question. I've been dying to see "Man of the Century" (due, in no small part, to Harry's review.) Does anyone know if this thing will ever be available on VHS or DVD? It's been more than a couple years for Chrisakes.

...but a lot of Harry's reviews are gushing in a way that reminds me of the fulsomeness of Jeff Craig's "Sixty Second Preview." In my mind it devalues the few really, really good movies he looks at, and it makes everything sit on the same plateau of "cool." Sometimes people are not aiming for "cool." Maybe they were with this movie, but after about the 851st time, it gets annoying.

this movie rocks. it's cool and ballsy and fun in a way that we haven;t seen in a while. is it requiem or reservior, nope. but it is it better thanmost of the crap we wate our money on? yep. should mars be getting work all over town? without a doubt. Should i stop asking myself questions and the answering them?.... Pool Hall Junkies doesn't have the resonance of Donnie D but in the end it makes a hell of a lot more sense. WAlken reminds us of why we're god and Mars shows us that he can do mor ethan shoot a mean game of stick. support this film. get behind this fim. don't bad mouth the title because it's cool and wrong in the way that indie films should be. This film desrves to be seen. if your a distributor, grab your balls and pick up this film. if you're an agent, call mars and plead with him to sign with you. chrisma in a can and he's very tall to boot. and i'm nt just saying that because i lost my shirt to him playong pool at the HAC... Harry, it's a shame you praise every fi;m. otherwise people might take you seriously when you talk about little films like PHJ with such admiration. Better than Color of Money? Even I wouldn't go that far, my redheaded Sydney Greenstreet.

...Brutally bad. How dare this guy, write, direct and star in this film next to Walken, Chazz, Steiger?? Truth is, he should have tried to be on ESPN to show off his skills as a pool player. The movie was a piece of shit.

I have just seen this film on dvd (for some reason it has been on video here in Aust. for weeks now). This is a really good movie. However, has anyone else picked up on the fact that some of the dialogue is extremely similar to Good Will Hunting? Listen again to the part where Johnny talks about the fact that when it comes to playing pool he could always "just play". Will tells Skylar the exact same thing. PHJ even has a character called Skylar.
