New SPY KIDS 2 Poster Hits!

Published at: June 18, 2002, 4:25 a.m. CST by staff

Hey folks, Harry here... fresh from awakening from my coma caused by a plethora of Vegas carnalities and cinema. I awoke to find this poster in my email box sent from Miramax and man oh man, that last SPY KIDS 2 poster was nice, but I like this one even more. There's Buscemi, Banderas and Gugino... BUT COOLER STILL are the Harryhausen-esque skeletons, a bigger image of those creatures fighting in the background and that other odd spy apparati. I actually haven't seen very much on this one, other than sitting in on the scoring session that had very Bernard Herrmann-y scoring touches which were quite lovely and playful. Though the film I'm really looking forward to from Rodriguez is ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO... Here's the poster, I'm told the next trailer should be released very soon! Here ya go..

    Ah, there it is

    by RogueScribner

Very similar to the last poster, but with more cast images. This movie looks promising. I enjoyed SPY KIDS for the goofy fun that it was. I hope this cranks things up a notch. When does ONCE UPON A TIME IN MEXICO come out? This year as well? Is Robert Rodriguez going to have a one-two knock out punch in 2002? As fun as SPY KIDS was, I'm looking forward to OATIM even more. Especially since Johnny Depp is in it. He looked wicked cool in those set photos way back when. L8r

Hey Harvey Weinstein CLICK RIGHT HERE you fat bastard you!

    by Bari Umenema

Hi Harvey. I'll be blunt. Were it not for your brother Bob you'd be broke right now. Miramax would be down the fucking tubes without Dimension making the real money to offset your shitty highbrow cinematic crapola. The three Scream pics and now Spy Kids are keeping your fat ass in silk underwear instead of adult Depends. So I have some advice for you Harvey old boy. Kill yourself. Hire a hit man, a goodfella from the Gambino family perhaps so it looks like an "accident" and with your big insurance policy much better movies will be made by Bob and his Dimension staff and all the elite assholes at Miramax can go help Tina Brown revive her Talk Too Much magazine. Until we meet again Harvey at Elaine's or the Russian Tea Room or some other watering hole you like to hang out at so you can work the room and threaten and punch photographers and brag about how friendly you are with Senator Hillary, that big cameo you arranged for her at Madison Square Garden for the police and firefighters worked out real well didn't it? They booed the bitch right off the stage and oh my were you pissed! Funniest damn thing I ever saw fat boy. As for the Spy Kids 2 poster, it's awesome. So get in touch with that Gambino goodfella so we can look forward to Spy Kids 3 and Spy Kids 4. Thanks Harv. And make sure I get a VIP seat for the Gangs of New York premiere in six months. I'll see you there!

    Looks very cool

    by Terry_1978

With all the stuff the poster and the new trailer are offering, this could have been released in the croweded May-July time frame...but they're playing it safe so it doesn't open up against some huge behemoth. I really do wanna check this out....the robot bug that ties the smaller kid's tuxedo tie in the trailer....almost ILM quality looking....very sweet.

    Lover of the first film

    by LeeScoresby

Neeeeeeeeeeat.... Just bought the first Spy Kids film on DVD. What a terrific piece of all-ages filmmaking. A critic called Rodriguex "the latino Disney", and I'm not sure that's an inaccurate portrait. The film is smart, trusts children's intelligence, and revels in the slightly goofy/pseudo-cool feel that Rodriguex wrote into the script. I've rarely enjoyed a Banderas performance more, Carla Gugino is AMAZING to look at, the kids are realistic and unannoying, Danny Trejo has one of his biggest roles to date...and the sequel looks even bigger/better. It's not the coolest thing in the world to have a fondness for this movie, but I'm unconcerned with that. Anyone with fondness for the classic children's films of my era (from Condorman to Goonies) should get something out of it. And I love that Rodriguez gives such positive latino role models to the audience without coming across like he's wielding a PC sledgehammer.

    is it just me . . .

    by Rain_Dog

Or are there an increasing number of new-ish posters here who seem to have a great deal of trouble hitting the right keys on their keyboards? I mean, this place has never been a haven for the syntactically gifted, but it's getting pretty ridiculous when people consistently misspell 'the'. I refer particularly to that reactionary jackoff Bari Umenima (although he did manage to spell most of the one syllable words correctly here, unlike over on the X-Men talk back). Dude, I can dig the fact that you don't like Hillary Clinton (I do, but to each his own), but is a Spy Kids forum really the place to rant about it? Maybe you should take your homoerotic musings on your latent feelings for Harvey Weinstien somewhere else as well, or at least offer some kind of intelligent critique of his business skills and the films he produces. Oh, the poster? Not bad, I suppose. I'm just waiting for all the photoshop artistes to start talking about pixelation ratios or whatever it is they get all riles up about.

    OrionsAngel: Jackass of the Millenium

    by Tonya_Harding

OrionsAngel: "Nothing can be cool about this movie to me. It's kids. I'm not a little kid anymore. I can't relate to them. Comment: So let them add all the typical hokey CGI effects. Who cares. NEXT!" --- Well then why the fuck did you ooze like a bitch in heat when you saw The Phantom Menace 16 times you fucking short bus? Jeezum, if you're going to be a retard, OrionsAngel, at least be a CONSISTENT retard. GOD, I hate you.
