Michael Keaton to reprise his role as BATMAN in the upcoming CATWOMAN movie'
Harry here... well, this'd be pretty fricking cool eh?
Hey I went to Universal Studios and got to meet one of my fave actors, Michael Keaton.
I mostly talked about Batman and he says that as far as he knows he's not doing another Batman, but there's a chance the "old crusader" might appear in the new "Catwoman" flick - but that's it - 5 minutes.
Keaton said something along the lines of an offer is on the table but whether or not it happens for him or one of the other actors who played Batman is still up in the air.
And when I walked off I wished I asked him about the Beeteljuice sequel, but I didn't sadly..

Sounds good to me.

I think in all the batman movies michael keeton was the best. none of them movies was very great though. why are they making a catwoman movie there are better movies to be made than that.

What depressing news! 'Batman Returns' is THE best Batman film in my opinion.
The film is perhaps the most gleefully anti-Hollywood film mistakenly packaged as a children -
At long, long last. The REAL Batman returns. Not a way too young looking Kilmer, who actually made Bruce Wayne look only a couple of years older that Dick Grayson, nor a strangely miscast Clooney (good Bruce Wayne, lamentable Batman) but the real deal, and possibly the most underestimated leading actor in Hollywood today. If you need me to qualify that comment, just look at the guy's credits....we laughed our asses off in Beetlejuice, Pacific Heights gave us all the shivers, hell, I even liked Multiplicity. This is very, very cool.

I doubt it'll happen but interesting nonetheless. Anyway, isn't Pitof directing this? With him aboard it immediately elevates this material which was looking incredibly shitty according to the script. At least now it'll have some style unlike that other comic book movie currently clogging up megaplexes across the country. Without question Michael Keaton was the best Bruce Wayne/Batman. The choice was inspired and got to the heart of the character and wasn't some square jawed superficially drawn literal translation like Clooney. Another thing, I hardly think Tim Burton is in desperate need of a hit since Planet of The Apes made a ton of mullah. But forget about Burton directing Catwoman. He's already moving ahead to direct BIG FISH. And what the fuck is wrong with this site!? Nothing but problems these last few days. Christ, go dust off your Chewbacca PJs and camp out for Attack of the Clones and let other ppl post for a change.

Remember all those years ago, when we said NOT MICHEAL KEATON as Batman! Anyone but him!
Now we look back and say. We would kill to have him back. How did the Batman franchise get to this point?
I would love to see him don the cowl again!

Look on the main page for Bond, AOTC, Matrix, X-Files, 24, etc. And since the finales for 24 and X-Files haven't aired yet, and since AOTC doesn't open until tomorrow, what's there to talkback about until they happen?...........I forgot what this story was about.

Why did they change Selina to Patience, it makes no sense. They had a cool ending for Batman Returns and they screw it all up by killing her off.

I just thought Keaton was the man. I loved "Night Shift". I also really dug "Johnny Dangerously" when I was a kid. WHEN I WAS A KID!!! Just want to reinforce that. Anyway, I was right about Keaton. He is and always will be the essential Batman. Not Clooney or Kilmer, not even West. Keaton owns that role and if this pans out, it will be a great cameo.

I like the idea of a spin off focusing just on Catwoman (she could easily carry her own film)- but why not just grab Pfieffer again? She isn't *popular* now... Judd is *hotter*.... like Tobey Maguire can open a movie by himself? He might open decent, but not 100 mil like s-m did. Pfeiffer fits the part, she made the role on film. Judd has never really been known to open films big, but she's young.
I like the idea of Wilson being an ex Gotham cop. KEATON- brilliant. I hope it isn't bullshit. He really needs to return to the role. Like pfeiffer, it's really HIS role on film, he hasn't been popular since, and fans really miss him, i think. Over Kilmer or Clooney, that's for sure....
Screw Burton.... we don't need him! The last entertaining film by him, in my opinion, was ED WOOD- end of discussion! I'd like to see the writer be Andrew Todd Walker, but whatever.... Daniel Waters.................... tisk uh tisk, sirs
If Keaton cameos for this and/or SUPERMAN V, I'm there like a fly is to pumpkins! -
Val Kilmer!
Enough said! -
Why arent they using Selina Kyle? It only makes sense to use her, since "Batman Returns" ended with her looking at the bat signal in the snow! Is patience even a character in the comic? Someone fill me in!!!!!

At Universal Studios? CA or the one in Orlando?
-
Does Keaton have any hair left?
-
Does Jon Peters have anything to do with this project ? Seems like he's had dibs on all the DC comics projects since 'Batman'... could anyone check on that ?
-
WHAT?! If ever there was a comic-book film that needed Schumacher...this is it! ONE WORD: NIPPLES!!!

Make Ron Miller's Dark Knight *NOW* - stop this continued Tim Burtonesque crockery and get on with the AGED BATMAN. And the only way to go with this is Stacy Keach, dammit. He's Bruce Wayne to a tee.
-
they need an actress like Alyson Hannigan from Buffy, that would be hot....

I know it SEEMS like just yesterday, but "Batman Returns" is 10 years old. Michelle Pfeiffer isn't Catwoman age anymore. Mind you, I'd still jump on her; I'm not saying she's old, she just doesn't fit in that action heroine mold anymore. Keaton's even older. And if this Catwoman project is using the script somebody here at AICN reviewed some time ago, then it really doesn't matter who they cast. Pauly Shore is looking for a comeback vehicle.

...but the honest truth is that those movies are far more Burton than Batman. Some may see that as a good thing, but those citing Keaton as a "definitive" Batman or Pfeiffer as a "definitive" Catwoman are just revealing their lack of appreciation for the source material that gave us these characaters. Both of them have gone through many changes over their decades of existence, but Wayne has never been the morose dork that Keaton played him as, and Catwoman's origin never involved cats magically licking her back to life. Nothing actually wrong with preferring Burton's romantic grotesques to the more straightforward action/adventure that's traditionally defined these characters in funnybook land, but let's be a little more conservative about throwing around terms like "definitive", eh? Burton's vision was no more definitive than Schumacher

Keaton was and IS the perfect Batman.
Brooding, neurotic, obsessed. It was perfect for him.. and yes, even though Jack's ego was aparent... SO FUCKING WHAT? Keaton ROCKED as Batman.
Heres a little hint folks.
I remember catching the very first showing of Batman at a HUGE theater in San Jose called the Century Theaters (think it was theater 21.. not sure, it was the BIG one).
When the Bat-jet flew into the air and was backlit by the moon, the entire theater (packed to the fucking gills, no mean feat for a building this godamn huge & I was dead center perfect spot) EXPLODED in cheering/ screaming/ applauding. I've seen countless movies in my life, but none have EVER engendered a reaction as intense as that. It was so bad it scared friends working in the lobby, and so loud they heared it in the mall/center across the street.
If Warner is EVER going to revive this franchise, they need to get back to what MADE it a godamn franchise in the beginning, and not some bloated, overhyped, bullshit freakshow of neon and bad puns. -
Micheal Keaton was the best Bruce Wayne. Val Kilmer looked the best in the batsuit. Overall, Micheal Keaton was the best all-rounder & although George Clooney had the definitive Batman jawline, he was crap as both Bruce Wayne AND Batman.

Yeah marvel is ahead of DC in the big screen but DC is way ahead of
Marvel on the small one. With
Justice Leauge Static Shock, the brilliant Smallville and the upcoming Birds of Prey(Who are finally using Mark Hamill as the joker)plus the batman and superman toons in the last years I don't think one has advantage over the other right now.And some guy before said that the WB is only above MGM,are you kidding?
Warners gotT3,the MATRIX sequels, HARRY POTTER, and possible MADMAX 4 and CONAN 3 so they have all the big/intresting genre movies at the moment. What the F has MGM got? ROBOCOP? That has more of a chance getting made at warners than it does at MGM.
