Teaser Trailer For ONE HOUR PHOTO Shows Up Online!!

Published at:  May 07, 2002 6:45:34 AM CDT

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

Got a note today, written on one of those envelopes you get your photos in that I thought was worth passing on:

Before the teaser hits major theaters this weekend & on
Quicktime.com, I thought AICN and the legion of Romanek fans deserve
a sneak peek of One Hour Photo. August 21st is the big day....

CLICK HERE TO SEE THE TEASER TRAILER!!

It was simply signed “Sy.”

I think that trailer is amazing, a great, creepy indication of just what Mark Romanek’s got in store for us. This should be in theaters this weekend and available on Apple’s site. For now, thanks to “Sy” for the exclusive.

"Moriarty" out.

    He's Back!

    by silenttype

Could Robin Williams actually be making decent films again? Death To Smoochy was disapointing, but Insomnia is brilliant! - but it just moved to September 5th here in Australia!!!!! (I saw it two weeks ago, and it rocks..........but I guess they couldnt release it on June 6th now that Spidey has taken $114 million in 3 days!!!!!!!)

    by silenttype

What are ya talking about? Do you miss Bicentennial Man? Do you miss Patch Adams? Do you miss Jakob The Liar???? It's great to see him try something different...........if only Harrison Ford would do the same! (Although I'd love to see Robin do standup again). I miss CADILLAC MAN!

    Romanek's "debut"

    by simon72

For your information: it's his SECOND feature. The first was "Static" in 1985, which he directed and co-wrote with keith Gordon. Very good it is too.

    Mirrorball

    by brendon

Channel 4 in the UK aired a fairly good Mirrorball on Romanek a couple of years back. And there's a fairly decent book of stills from his amazing videos. The Janet Jackson 'Got Til It's Gone' is something ofa masterpiece... as is Scream... and yeah, I'd agree about Bedtime Story... even these new Mick Jagger and No Doubt vids...

There're more ideas in one of his vids than in the whole oeuvre of a Fincher or Scorcese, so I await this film very, very eagerly.

    OHP: Best film of 2002!

    by xlogik909

Thank goodness that trailer is finally online! My only complaint is that it doesnt show you any of the really cool surreal dreamlike stuff or ornate images. Barring Episode Two and Red dragon being the absoulte shiznax, OHP is hands down the best film of the year. Romanek of course is known for his kickass avant garde mtv stuff(Madonna's Bedtime stories, NIN closer/Perfect Drug) but when you pair Romanek up with the music of Trent Reznor and Robin Williams...wow! This is by far Williams' most brilliant turn since The Fisher King.

Why you gotta hate on Smoochy?

    by walterburns

I honestly don't see what everyone's saying about Death to Smoochy. It was great. Sure, it was a little too outdated to be a satire, but it works well as just a comedy that's REALLY REALLY mean! Sure it's over the top. Sure it has a production design that's about as subtle as Dick Tracy's? But really, it was fun. If anything, in 20 years, it'll be a dorm room phenomenon.

    Best movie of the year

    by lindastuurman

If this movie is not gonna be the best movie of the year, I'll never understand the movie bussiness. And I'm soooo happy to read these positive things about Robin (Does that make you think I'm Robins whore????!!!!)
I'm sorry but can we keep it clean here. Sure I love Robin, but I'm defenitely NOT his whore!! Can't we just stick to this incredible movie, with its perfect acting. Thanks

How About A Spoiler Heads Up 241?

    by johnny drywall

We're all very impressed that you've seen the movie before us and no one would ever refute your veracity. So there's no need for you to prove that you have by telling us whether there is or isn't a surprise ending because either way it's a spoiler.

    False advertising...

    by pattyogreen

Chirst almighty. I've seen this movie thanks to the wonders of IRC, and I do LOVE it (particularly the cinematography that goes along with the wonderful plot), but this trailer pisses me off. They're marketing it as a freakin' *thriller*. Mind you, Williams character has major mental issues in the film, but he's not dangerous to those he cares about. Want a spoiler? If not, DON'T READ THE REST OF MY TALKBACK. BEGINNING SPOILER NOW! Okay, my biggest peeve is the lady freaking out in the car because of a picture. It's not gorey. It's not someone she loves ripped to shreds. It's her husband with another woman. Gasp! Shock! END SPOILER NOW! GRRRR!!! Hulk smash marketing department!!!!

I had a hiccup viewing it too but once I upgraded my Quicktime to version 5, it played like a charm.

Teaser Trailer? Bootleg's Been Out For Months.

    by dougiezero

A bootleg with has been floating around for months. I saw a VCD copy in January. It's good. Anyone who saw it remembers the bloody face sequence and blowjob by gunpoint scene.

I saw this back in February. It was completly done. Why are they waiting until August to release it?

When the mad, mad Robin comes bob-bob-bobbin' along!

    by wardog

Heh-heh-heh. Williams is giving us three fascinating performances this year alone! Okay, so Death to Smoochy was pretty weird, but Insomnia and this new one look like a new level of acting for him. Continues to demonstrate that his Oscar for Good Will Hunting was well deserved. ROBIN ROCKS!!!
