New LILO & STITCH Trailer Online Now!!

Published at:  Mar 03, 2002 6:49:48 AM CST

Hey, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab.

Evidently the new CINDERELLA II (shudder) tape has a LILO & STITCH trailer on it, and it's not one of the "inter-stitch-als" that Disney has been releasing, the parody trailers. Instead, this is a full-length glimpse at what you'll see when the film hits the theater this summer.

The e-mail one of our readers sent me actually steered me to THIS WEBSITE first, where they have an image gallery of caps taken from the trailer. There's some nice details in the captions, and it gives you a good look at the design of the film. But if you want to see the trailer itself...

CLICK THIS LINK RIGHTCHERE, THEN SCROLL DOWN AND KEEP YOUR'N EYES PEELED!!

I like this stuff a lot. It feels a little like IRON GIANT, but it's been in development long enough that I don't think it's a lift. If anything, I'm encouraged by the fact that this has a lot of character and doesn't really feel like other recent Disney movies. I'm rooting for this to be a winner, and I bet you will, too, after seeing that trailer.

"Moriarty" out.

    Definitely not IRON GIANT

    by cookiepuss

Please, let's not get the IRON GIANT people on this and start a whole LOTR vs SW mess. Believe me, this movie and these people are not biting on Iron Giant - this is the first true original animated movie in a long, long time. As soon as the Vin Diesal vs. Elvis and who's cooler stuff starts up around here, I'll have to ignore the talkbacks again.

This doesn't look like Disney, so I'm in.

    by redbox

This looks promising. I'm an Iron Giant and Princess Mononoke fan and I hate Disney, but this does not look like the usual bad music babysitting hyper Disney Crap. For good American animation I'll give it a shot. In a world where Waking Life gets no Oscar nod and Jimmy Neutron does, any improvement on the animated feature is welcomed.

    Inter-Stitch-als

    by sameagle

I don't know about anyone else, but I could not view the regular version of the trailer on that site (or any of the other trailers either). But, I did notice that the second Inter-Stitch-al is posted on the official Lilo & Stitch site...this one spoofing Aladdin (with spots for 2 more!). I love these spoof trailers...they're awesome! For those who want to save the trailers, I noticed QuickTime won't let you save it, but I found the trailer was saved in the Temp Internet Files folder. Simply copy/move it out of that folder into wherever you want (and rename it to something easier to read!). Here's the link to the official Lilo & Stitch site:

    by jollydwarf

Is it me or should this thing be called "Stitch: One Intergalatic Sonofabitch"? A blue carnivorous koala-thing with antennae that just seems like a duplicitous bastard. If some Pikachu knock-off gets its ass kicked in the film though, I'm a fan.

How much news does everyone need? Seriously...

    by sk909

Dude... I think in order for some people to be happy with the news on this site, Harry would have to attach pimple sized cameras to every ass, shoulder, and forehead in Hollywood and then create a streaming video wall somewhere on this site so that we could get Hollywood news every second of the day. 3am Hollywood time? Switch over to Oliver Stone upchucking last nights Bourbon and steak. 2:30pm? You get to see great news like Julia Roberts on her period. 2:31pm? See Spielberg picking up his kids from school. *** What I'm trying to say is, give Harry a break. Sometimes, there's just no exciting news. Maybe I'm wrong, which I'm sure you'll try to prove, but for God's sake, lay off the site for just one day, please. Thanks.

    Thunderpants!

    by ambrose chappell

Okay, I'm 20 years old and I have to admit that I want to see Thunderpants after watching the trailer (a little further down from Lilo and Stitch on the same page). Something about little English boys farting...it just makes me smile. By the way, where's Todd to draw some IRON GIANT and Lilo and Stitch comparisons?

    Definitely reminds me of "Emperor"

    by terry_1978

What with the unique character designs and slightly more mature humor in some areas. The space alien bounty hunters kinda remind of Saturday morning cartoons, but if they're hilarious and/or dangerous as hell, then I'm definitely gonna be in the theatre come its release.

    by monstersdue

Could it be another nail in the coffin of 2D animation? Besides the ethnically diverse characters it doesnt sell me that it's anything new from the mouse house. Think i'll pass.

Why this film might not work...

    by wonkaworld

because of everything else there is coming out this summer...and i agree with the person who pointed out how 2D animation is all but dead....
i hope this film is good...but i think it will go unnoticed with episode 2 and everything else..still kids drag their parents to worse crap all the time..so we will see...im open to seeing it..

    new voice talent

    by wtg!fubar

Hey--Disney does use NEW voice talent in Lilo & Stitch!
I saw a screening of Lilo and Stitch, and to those of you complaining Disney never uses NEW unknown talent----- Listen to LILO! That's not a "STAR" talking! I heard it's a little 9year old girl, and that this is the first big thing she has ever done!!! I say WTG!!!! If you saw a screening, or when you go to see the movie, you will hear this kid, and she will blow you away. I love Stitch!! But I loved the personality and feeling that you can hear in Lilo's voice!!! It's totally real- believable. This unknown and NEW talent is amazing, and I hope Disney realizes this and continues to use NEW talent, and even keeps this little girl going! She's that good! The whole movie rocks!! I did some checking, to see if it was true about a child doing the voice of Lilo, and I found out this name on a search- DAVEIGH CHASE. WTG DAVEIGH! all the best, fubar
We all love the animation too! Not the impossible thin!

    QuickTime Rules!!!

    by scalz

With Windows Media Player, even at the size of a postage stamp, this trailer stinks. The movie, on the other hand, looks good (from what I could make out). Next time I'll lower my screen resolution to 400 x 300. Maybe then I'll be able to see something.

From what I could nake out it looks more promising than anything Disney have spewed up in some time.

    Looks like great fun!

    by notageek

And for the confused, the Iron Giant comparison is due to the themes in both films of children befriending "weapons of mass destruction" (Stitch and the Giant) and then having them change their mind to decide to become somthing more and over-ride their programming. Have you guys seen the trailer of Stitch picking up a car and slamming it into a house? I'd line up for this one before another banal and mind numbingly wooden Lucas fiasco, but to each his own, I guess. I now return you to mostly incoherent thoughts and multiple expletives...

    Destroy the House of Mouse

    by mecha_s8n

Lilo and Stich is a blatant piece of plagarism from a 1984 (in the USA at least)Doctor Who comic strip by comic luminaries Pat Mills and John Wagner and ilustrated by Dave Gibbons. No, No, keep reading. I aint crazy I have evidence. Oh god, I sound like im talking such bollocks

The Doctor Who comic strip was called The Star Beast. It was about an apparently cute little furry blue(in the USA version) alien, with big ears, that crashed on earth and was adopted by a little black girl.
anyways Alien turns out to be an evil killer from another galaxy on the run from the galactic federation.

I could just have thought i was crazy till the preview/review on this very site revealed that there was a "Mad Scientist" sent by the galactic federation to track down the cute little blue alien. Same thing happens in the Comic.
Im going to stop ranting now, but if the "Mad Scientist" turns out to have a bomb implanted in him by the federation them i think it would be possible for some one to sue Disney

I know im probably going to get the hell flamed out of me for this but if just one other person realises that ive got a bit of a point here its worth the millions who think im a sad wanker
