New LILO & STITCH Trailer Online!!
Hey folks, Harry here with the latest trailer on LILO & STITCH. I'm pinning a lot of hopes on this one with Disney, and I'm currently about 6 hours away from watching RETURN TO NEVERLAND.... sigh.... But for some reason I get the idea that there is more charm, originality and old fashioned ideas in the following trailer than there will be in this blown up direct to video monstrosity that Capone described as being the worst of the year when he reviewed it.... I wish Capone had reviewed ROLLERBALL, it'd be interesting to compare and contrast the level of shite. Anyways, here's a real DISNEY film that we should be interested in.... Here ya go....

THIS is what we want from Disney. This movie looks awesome. Stitch looks like a little hell-spawn, behavior-wise, which is fantastic. I miss animated hell-spawns. Honestly, I'm having a hard time remembering one since older mouse-boy in The Secret of Nihm. Plus, the fact that this character, at least in the trailers, is an obvious ladies man is all the more cool. Let's see him hit on The Little Mermaid next. C'mon... hot redhead with a seashell bra on? What fucking man that hits on these other Disney chicks could resist? ;)
-
... I fucking misspelled Nimh again. I'm sorry, I adore the movie and watch it to death, but for some reason I only get that spelling right half the time. :(

that looks fun. :)

I hate to burst everyone's bubble here, but I have this feeling that the movie will suck big time. Other than these little teasers, this movie is absolutely nothing new. Its disappointing because these teasers make the movie look great. About a week ago, my roommate rented Atlantis on video. Well I hadn't seen it, so I wathced it. Right before the movie came on, it said there would be a preview of "Lilo and Stitch" following the film. And sure enough, there was a trailer following the film. BUT IT LOOKED LIKE CRAP!! There were no other Disney characters in it, just Stitch (who does look like a little fun.) Anyway, the premise of the movie as far as I remember looks to be about a little Hawaiin girl named Lilo, who adopts a pet "dog", Stitch, who just happens to be an escapee from another planet. Well more aliens come down to take Stitch back, and it's Lilo's job to stop them, and then they talk about family and never giving up, etc..... I don't know. Maybe I'm just cynical, but from what I saw, I would not put down $8.

I am sooooo friggin tired of Disney raping my childhood. I grew up on "Little Mermaid' and "Beauty and the Beast." They keep on making these shitty sequels that make me want to hunt down Michael Eisner, shove him into a used PortAPotty, and roll it off a cliff. "Lilo and Stitch" looks great and I can't wait to see it. But if it sucks, I'm totally giving up on them.

i mean, holy shit.....I never thought I'd see the day when you have a weird union of Disney animation and AC/DC...and this looks REALLY funny to boot....I can forgive Disney a whole lot of things for producing something like this....this looks like it's gonna be something collosal.....bigger than big.....
and for the first time in i don't know how long, it may actually deserve it.......ciao!...love ya'll -
How can you not like this ?

But I'll be seriously disappointed if there's no other Disney babes in this one after seeing the bit with Jasmine in this trailer. Plus, is anyone getting an "Elvira-from-Tiny-Toons" vibe from that girl in the kennel where all the "aminals" are hiding in the rafters from her? Made me smile.

. . .and there are two more coming
-
I laughed my ass off when Jasmine took off with Stitch. But I'm confused about everyone talking about how bad Disney's got. THEY DON'T SUCK! In the past five years, they've made both Toy Stories, Tarzan (which is stellar!), the enjoyable Hercules, the funny Emperor's New Groove, and Monsters, Inc. Anybody talking about any movie "raping" their childhood has severe mental problems. AND NO, I'M NOT A PLANT!
-
Half the films you mentioned there were Pixar pictures. Pixar is a second company that works with Disney. They have a contract with them. But they make up the ideas. After 2 more films, their contract is up, and either the Mouse will pay huge and give them room to work elsewhere, or they'll lose the only thing that's kept them afloat the past half-decade.
-
They might still be capable of a good movie, but it's been all downhill since Aladdin/Lion King.
-
For some reason, this seems very nifty to me. Can't explain why. Cartoon gibberish makes me giggle, I guess.

has harry even seen the theatrical version? i mean, i'm sure it does suck shit, probably even harder than the version he saw, but still, enough is enough. lilo and stitch is gonna be great, by the way...disney has always been pretty hit or miss, but this looks like one of the stronger outings. HUNCHBACK and HERCULES were fucking horrible, but otherwise their output as of late has been solid, if not memorable. RETURN TO NEVERLAND doesn't count.

Seriously, anyone who uses that phrase needs to be actually raped, in front of their mother, so they'll stop saying bullshit like that.

Saying a Disney film will suck because of Eisner...well, it just doesn't hold much water when you think about it. The Disney animation department is but a tiny satellite of a huge system under Eisner's control, and he is far from being the only person who works on each flick that comes out. No, I do not like him any more than the rest of you, but neither do most of the animators, several hundred of whom were just laid off. They're doing the best they can under the circumstances, and boycotting a Disney film only takes money away from them, and not from Eisner. I personally am looking forward to Lilo and Stitch. Sure, it may not turn out to be a "classic" like most of you grew up on, but it shouldn't be a disappointment, either. I am actually a fan of some of the post-Lion King stuff, especially Mulan, Fantasia 2000, Emperor's New Groove (which is actually pretty funny), and Atlantis (although I do agree that Pocahontas, Hunchback, Hercules, and Tarzan were all pretty lame or tried too hard). Animation is one of the most complex, time-consuming art forms out there, and unlike many others, requires a huge amount of teamwork on the part of all involved. That's why it takes several YEARS for each one to get made. It's also a lot harder than running a theme poark or designing merchandise, which may be why Disney's animators are suffering. PLEASE show them some respect as they are only trying to survive their own company's troubles.
-
Let's first start off with the fact that I work for a division of Disney, not the animation division. I am a member of the mouse team, but I have my own opinions.
Second, I have my problems with the way the company runs sometimes, that's just a part of life. You take the good with the bad.
To the person who accuses people who like Atlantis, Tarzan, Monsters Inc., and Emperor's New Groove and Hercules of having no taste. Realize that they don't have your sense of taste, they have their own and they liked something about those movies.
I make a lot of my movie viewing decisions based on what I see and read here at AICN. I rarely post because most of what is written is idiotic. Some of you get way too upset over your entertainment.
Peter Pan in Return To Neverland is not the rape of your childhood. It is a movie. Like it or not, it exists. I have seen it and I really had a good time. It was not "The Godfather", but it wasn't meant to be. For a few minutes I was back in Neverland with the friends I grew up with in my childhood. They are a little different than I remember, but they are old friends. Have a little fun for heaven's sake.
Lilo and Stitch. I will let you form your own decisions based on actually watching the movie. I really enjoyed a test screening I was fortunate to see. Sorry if family values make you want to puke, perhaps you should discuss those problems with Mommy and Daddy rather than blaming them on Michael Eisner.
It's a fun film with some different characters. Maybe letting the nasty adult in you have a break for a while and letting your inner child back out to watch the film is best, you will have to decide.
They cannot all be perfect films. Some of the stuff I see you guys rave about is utter crap to me, but I don't spend my time fussing over it and posting that others are morons for liking it.
So please pay me and those like me the same courtesy for having our own opinions about movies you don't like.
Get a life, it's a film you don't have to watch if you don't want to. -
I think the Disney flicks since "Hunchback" are all HIGHLY underrated...flawed, yes, but underrated. Pocahontas and Hunchback were stinkers, but Hercules was fun (it had great music, something I can't say about any other Disney movie since "The Lion King"), Mulan provided the first interesting female hero (and maybe the first interesting hero, period) in Disney's history, and Tarzan featured some brilliant moments (though mostly when the freaking animals weren't talking) and came closest Disney's come to doing a serious, irony-free movie in a long while. Then there's the hilarious Emperor's New Groove, which is often pasted by schmucks who didn't give it a chance, but if you WATCH the thing you'll see it's really quite entertaining (the dialogue alone puts it head and shoulders above most other recent Disney flicks). And Atlantis showed that they are really trying to change...it was better than the "Mummy" movies, or the ludicrously overrated Shrek. Disney hasn't produced a classical animation masterpiece in many years, but that doesn't mean they haven't been doing interesting work all this time. Take another look. They're ripe for greatness again, if they're only allowed to escape from the formulas that the execs keep fostering on them.

I applaud Disney for taking such a gargantuan leap from what they have done before, and making fun of what they have done before in the process! I WILL see this movie! (Unless it's rated G)

...were all excellent movies. Some of them were not as good as the Disney masterpieces, but all of them were much better than the usual Hollywood fare. And they were all ten times as creative and imaginative as Shrek. Boo Shrek! Sorry, but someone has to balance out the extreme anti-Disney sentiment on AICN.
-
I'd rather see an Invader Zim movie with an R rating like it would deserve. *sigh* I can only dream.
-
I hate that shit - "Disney Classic" my Ass. Anyway, not much to say but, Lilo and Stich may not suck as bad as the last 50 or so 'classics' Disney squeezed out in the last decade. But Much Props to The Guy who Mentioned 'Nimh'. I love that movie, man. RETURN of NIMH! Return of NIMH!
-
I'm not a plant - Yes, I work for the Mouse House but not in Animation.
I enjoy most of Disney's films. I do believe there have been misses.
I went into Lilo & Stitch with no expectations. I was very surprised. I think this movie is very good and I laughed as much as I did during Monsters.
It was nice NOT to see a fairy tale, an attempt at a true story and not every other word of dialog in a song.
This was an original story and the trailers have NOTHING to do with the movie.
Also nice to see a movie without Randy Newman music.
