The First 11 Minutes of SUPERTROOPERS!!!

Published at:  Jan 26, 2002 1:39:03 AM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... Once again I'm still in the hell of dial-up nightmares, so I can't get this in any sort of timely manner... However, Robie, Moriarty and Quint all love this film in a chuckling hilarity manner that confuses me. I s'pose I'll just have to watch this later and then the lightbulb will blink on in my understanding. Doesn't a broken lizard heal?

Hey Harry,

Not sure if a million other people have told you this but I saw an ad on
the
Onion and it lead me to the first eleven minutes of Super Troopers...I
think
the director and actors must have put up a homemade site because
the quality
of the QT is pretty damn good.

I saw it at:

Click Here For 11 Minutes of Hilarity

If no one has taken the handle, let them know that Kilgore Trout sent this
to
you.

With these type of comedies, they always start out good. The clouds usually role in when the plot kicks in or you find out the lack there of. Just look at last months "Not Another Teen Movie" and "How High". These are two prefect examples of just this pattern.

The 11 min's might have been worth it if they had been gang raped by the local constabulary.

    by bongsabre

This movie shows on Sundance fairly often and is the first movie made by Broken Lizard. And it is everything that PCU was hyped to be. It is the second coming of Animal House.

And as for all the die-hard haters posting steaming mounds of ka-ka, you need to look into that cure-all invention called pussy, 'cause you fellas are a bit pent-up in your frustrations.

    Word to ya mother.

I can't get this movie to play at all. It loads very slowly, and stops at about 1:30 into the clip. Am I doing something wrong?

First try clearing your browser's cache, I can still only get about half of it but at least it attempts a download after clearing it out of cache.

In order to re-try I have to clear the cache of my browser and restart my computer (it will start downloading and the audio is there but no picture until I restart my machine...)

All this after downloading Quicktime and installing it fresh- how fuggin' frustrating.

For all those without sticks up their asses...

    by auntiemeat

.. yes, the movie is fucking hilarious. I saw it all three times it played during SXSW last year, and my sides hurt so bad afterward. I even have a large group of friends who saw the last screening of it last year who are getting together a group of around 20 people to go see it, based on that one experience. But beware. It's silly. Those of you who can't take silliness (i.e. the ones that say their 11 minutes was wasted), don't go. You won't enjoy. And for those of you who did enjoy the clip, there are parts when it does slow down, but be patient, better stuff it to come within a few minutes of slowing. Plus, fucking Wonder Woman is in the movie. She rocks. I've looked up to her since I was a little girl. Anywho, if you like a good lighthearted gut-busting comedy, go see it. If you are one of those snobs that must have insight into the human condition and some deeper meaning to EVER SINGLE film you watch, don't. Go see something else. Everybody else... have a blast!

not funny. maybe the next 11 min are better, but this preview does not convince me to waste $8.75 and 90 mins.

This is a movie so bad that it sites Aintitcoolnews.com as a source of praise. Pathetic. No one will touch Dumb and Dumber, it's like trying to score 100 points in a game after chamberlain... it's not, fucking, happening.

    by boston brand

I saw SUPER TROOPERS at Sundance last year, and it was damn funny all the way through. The Broken Lizard guys are a seriously talented (and demented) bunch. Someone in one of the earlier postings compared their work to ANIMAL HOUSE, and that's a much better comparison than any of the more recent excuses for ensemble comedy. What I like about these guys is that they're not afraid to be smart and silly at the same time. (That's the combination that made Monty Python great.) That won't work for everyone, but it sure works for me.
