ROSWELL 2002_Spoilage!!

Published at:  Jan 01, 2002 8:05:41 PM CST

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

Tonight UPN airs a brand new installment of “Roswell,” but what lies beyond? Some clues on the second half of season three:

* Liz’s parents will make good on their promise to ship young Ms. Parker off to Winnaman Academy -- a Vermont boarding school.

* Liz is paired with a pothead roommate named Eileen Burrows. Eileen will give Liz her first taste of marijuana.

* Liz tells Eileen to call her “Beth,” and claims to be from Anaheim, Calif. She also claims to have not left a boyfriend behind. At first.

* While chatting in the Winnaman dean’s office, Liz begins to exhibit telekinetic superpowers!

* Maria will hit the road. She’ll visit “first-kiss” Billy Darden in Manhattan, and follow up with a visit to Liz in Vermont.

* Meta-Chem, Michael’s new employer, will mortally wound one of Michael’s security-guard buddies – in an effort to force Michael to use his “healing powers.” Trouble is, Meta-Chem doesn’t realize that Michael has no healing powers; only Max does. Michael’s pal Monk does not survive the episode.

* Max will heal a mortally-wounded Jim Valenti (which I guess means Roswell’s former sheriff will probably be getting superpowers too).

* The Meta-Chem folks catch Max healing Valenti. We learn Meta-Chem learned about the “healer” via reports of Liz taking a bullet in the diner (Meta-Chem has her ketchup-stained Crashdown uniform, among other things) and the remarkable recovery of a ward full of cancer kids a little over a year ago.

* Meta-Chem, it turns out, has been searching for “the healer” on behalf of a 92-year-old billionaire.

I am – Hercules!!

Oh shoot, I've missed over half tonights ep!!

    by drath

I really don't know what I want from this show. I've watched on and off this season after watching it pretty regularly in the first two seasons. I just wasn't as drawn to it as I usually am, and I don't know if this is UPN/WB garbage or what. I like the characters, the actors are all decent, some even excellent, but Sadler never gets enough screen time. For some reason it never shines. I know the Buffy fan in me wants more of the evil aliens intrigue, good guys versus bad guys, and that kreepy teen villain even if the actor DOES grow up. But those episodes have been less convincing this year, and the transparent event Wedding episode just felt contrived(she marries a guy that wasn't even around last year?!). Basically the action adventure just isn't where the writers' talent really lies. But the cheesy evenging soap opera-ish feel of "will they get together again!" dating drama repels me. I watched that stuff in High School, it's not what I want now. What they HAVE done this year that I like is the extended family. We've seen more of Max and Liz's parents this year, and I'd like that to progress. And more Sadler, dammit! Valenti should still be important even if he's not the Sam Gerard character-style he was in season one. Don't use him and he'll leave the show!

    good ep tonight

    by mgthedj

Valenti the younger will be used to get to Isabel. If the Liz storyline is true, then this may be the end of the series. Too radical on paper. The execution will be the deciding factor. The "ship off to boarding school" storyline is a throwback to the 1950's and 1960's, and for me is only believable in the 21st century if the girl then runs away and disappears into a major city, with the parents never seeing her again.-----later-----m

Roswell High author wrote this episode, and it was dam good.

    by seth maxim

Now this episode feels more like seasons 1 and 2, which is precisely what they need to get back to. The writer of ROSWELL High, which this series is based on but differs, is now on the series writing team and this episode tonight was her first most excellent debut, this episode show's whats to come from her and what she's contributing to the show, and judging from this show and what's supposedly to come in the near future, we shall be seeing a ROSWELL REBIRTH, I mean Metachem, Liz and telekinetic powers, Kyle's powers, Valenti being mortally wounded, Beth which future Max said would be Liz's friend in the future, 92 year old billionaire searching for Max, and Liz smokes pot, the world makes sense after all, we the loyal viewers who have been patient are really in for it this second half of season 3. Good choice on bringing in the ROSWELL High author to resurrect the phenomanal series which I'll admit had been waining a little this part of the earlier season. LONG LIVE ROSWELL AFTER ALL. HAPPY NEW YEAR INDEED. HAPPYNEWYEAR'S EVERYONE.

    Roswell review

    by antarian female

Well, I am HUGE Roswell fan, and although I see some fans really hating 3rd season, I love every second of it and I just enjoy it! And "Tale of 2 parties" this week was EXCELLENT!!! It was fun, honest, enjoyable, sweet and maybe the best S3 ep til now! So I hope this season keeps getting better and better, cause Roswell is THE BEST!!!

    Where's Brody?

    by straightedgechik

This season is okay but the wedding thing seemed far too rushed. Also, every time Max talks about trying to contact his son I keep thinking what about Larak? You know, the alien who was friends with Max's original self and could take over Brody's body and communicate what was going on back home. I guess Desmond Askew isn't available or something because it seems like an oversight. I liked Brody.

Also Season 2 was my favorite because there was so much sci-fi stuff. I'm not interested in watching some Dawson's Creek-ish soap opera. The whole story with Liz and presumably Kyle developing superpowers because of being healed would be very interesting. But I hope the whole "boarding school/ marijuana" thing is untrue. It's bad enough teen characters drink so often and casually on so many shows, I really hate it when they try to promote smoking of any kind, especially of an illegal drug. But I don't think the boarding school storyline is very plausible after last night's episode. Liz's father said he was giving Max a second chance so unless Max does something as big as getting himself and Liz arrested, I don't see any reason why they would ship her off.

    I really enjoyed this episode

    by parnellbc

Hey its mid week but never to late to chime in I suppose. I've enjoyed several episodes this season and this one ranks up there. My favorite one so far is the honeymoon episode but this is a close second. Oh, I also liked the detour to Hollywood. Anyway, so these are the story lines for the rest of S3. My question would be has season three's extension been greenlighted?? Maybe I missed the anouncement. With CBS and their programming director Moonvess taking over the possibility seemed likely of cancellation not extension. This Moonvess fellow is ridiculed by Letterman and generally has a reputation for cutting shows. I however hope Roswell shows promise to those who've never seen it and reignites the intrest in disenchanted fans. Long Live Roswell.

    puzzling Q????

    by loopyrocks

If Liz's dad is giving Max a second chance, why is he going to ship her off? It's just been something on my mind.

Man who was that one gal?

    by trappergold

This weeks Roswell was awsome! I loved the frat party scene. Especially that one chick Sally the Nihlist. I know she was just an extra and all, who knows what her name was, but damn was she fine! They ought to have her in there as a reoccuring character. She stole the scene and did not even say a word. Let's see more 'Sally the Nihlist.'

Isabel and Kyle in The New Years Episode...

    by michalea999

Roswell hasn't been that exciting this season. I don't feel Max and Liz's relationship like I did during season 1. I can definitely feel Isabel and Kyle getting together. In this particular episode, I thought the way Kyle looked back at Isabel at the Frat Party was very enticing. I've always felt Isabel should be with Kyle instead of Jesse because Kyle knows who she is and what she's about. A divorce would be nice so that Kyle and Isabel can explore their feelings.
