BLADE II Trailer Online!!!!

Published at:  Dec 18, 2001 10:59:53 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here. The BLADE 2 mini-teaser has hit online and unfortunately it is only around 35 to 45 seconds long and shows next to nothing. I have to say that this is the sort of trailer I'd expect to see nearly 8 to 10 months ahead of the release, but we're only 3 months or so out from the release of this film. There should have been a balls to the wall trailer cut for release with FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING, admittedly I want the 'balls to the wall' trailer because I want to see more of this film like now, as in yesterday, as in immediately. After those reviews that we got online from that screening, I wanted to see more. Hell those screen grabs we got yesterday were cooler than this whole trailer. Personally, I'd be selling us the BLOOD PACK team of super trained Vampires whose only reason to exist for years was to hunt and kill BLADE, now he's their only hope to survive. Cuz that's the cool part about this film, at least in the short and brief and able to be watched on any and all TV screens. Save the gross stuff, the heavy scares for the theater. Tease us with the coolness. You don't have to sell us that BLADE is in it, we saw the first film. Tell us why this won't just be a retread of what has come before. Ya know? Here ya go...

Don't get me wrong, I'm psyched as hell that Blade II is coming out, but after watching the Spider-Man trailer all day, you can imagine how exicted I was to come to this site, and see the heading I was waiting months for, only to have my hopes dashed with a warning of its limited length and lack of overall content. The best part was Blade cracking that smart-ass remark in what I think is a nightclub. But one of the posters did have a point. Blade was pretty low-profile when it came out in '98, and was moderately successful. I think New Line is smart in how it's choosing to push the film onto the public. They know they don't have a Spider-man or X-Men on their hands, so it's better to wait a while, so people will find that product is coming quicker than they think. I expect a full trailer to follow in the next two months, hopefully attached some high-profile releases.

pointless. Couldn't come up with more than 10 seconds? Crap. Looks like they'll keep the same look as the first one though, which will be juuuuuust fiiiiiiine. Long as we don't get the silly CGI crapfest with Stephen Dorff at the end.

    Blade II Theatrical Teaser Trailer

    by kenshiro

I would like to congratulate New Line Cinema on this trailer because a trailer is not supposed to tell the story. Just look at the theatrical trailer of Stanley Kubrick's "The Shining." "The Shining" trailer was perfect, it had no editing or actors in the trailer, just an elevator with the surprise at the end of it. I am still anxious to see Blade 2 because of the originality and depth of the original. I have the DVD of the film and watched the entire film and extras over ten times. Although Wesley Snipes is cool, Donnie Yen kicks even more arse. That's Yen on the right side of the Bloodpack. Bye everyone, I am going to see "The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring" at 12:01 am at the local Marcus Theatre in Addison, Illinois.

    by st buggering

A teaser isn't SUPPOSED to show much. It's teasing, you see. Thus the name. Personally, I don't know what some of you are whining about. I think it's refreshing that a studio isn't ramming a product down our throats for months ahead of time. Plus, I'm pretty damn sick of trailers that give the full plot. Of course, I'm sure we'll get one of those, too. No matter what, I'm all over this like skinny on Julia Roberts.

As Kenshiro said, Donnie Yen (Iron Monkey) is a 1st class ass-kicker. He's a star and director back in HK. And he's choreographing the fights in Blade 2. He said in an interview that he was very impressed with what Snipes could do physically. This movie should be frickin awesome!

Yeah, You're Right Lego Lou About Blade, And No F%cking Spid

    by the founder

Man you're dead on, Blade isn't one of those movies that need a ton of hype. The tv spots, and advertisment will pick up 3 to 4 weeks before release, and become heavier as the release date gets closer. It's not expected to gross Star Wars or Spidey profits, but somewhere around 100 to 120 tops. That f%cking AMC didn't show any of the good trailers, we had Time Machine(looked cool), Stuart f$cking Little 2(not for all the money in the world), Scorpion King(so so), Blade 2(not much to judge, but it was alright), Kate & f%cking Leapold(god help me), Some movie with Richard Gere, and Diane Lane(not even worth remembering the name), Vanilla Sky(I don't wanna know what in the hell that was doing up there), Orange County(want to see it, could,ve lived without the trailer), Beautiful Mind(Lord take my sight away), Changing Lanes(looks cool,Sam is the man Jackson's in it). I swear they showed 10 f$cking trailers, the movie didn't start to dman near 12:30, I hate AMC, they always, and I do mean always cheat me on the trailers, I swear whatever trailer that is supposed to be in front of a certain movie is never there, unless it's just happens to be the time I go, but I just knew that Spidey would be there, and if I'm lucky AOTC(haven't seen that yet), but they got the best of me again.

It's not the length of the trailer that bothered me, it's the lack of content. I don't mind if New Line is trying to not reveal everything in the plot. But do they have to show a music video that's pointless?

It's from a movie review on AICN a few years back. One of Harry's idiot reviewers wrote that line "so-and-so has a beer and cheets on his wife." Since then people have made it their little staple. It still makes me laugh to think a guy's whole review consisted of the main character drinking and "cheeting" on his wife.

It looked like Blade was hopping like a bunny. The rest after he hits the ground was alright, nothing spectacular. But who cares Blade will just reaffirm that Marvel Comics has the best characters, who translate perfectly to film.

That's all it's suppossed to be. Just a taste to wet your appetites. It should leave you wanting to see more. I would think that a bunch of film geeks/fanboys who frequent this site would already know the difference between a teaser and a full trailer. Anyway, the first Blade was a lot of fun and this one looks to be more of the same. I'm there. Peace.
