Want to see something really cool from BLADE 2'

Published at:  Dec 17, 2001 10:39:20 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here. Here's some photos of Reapers from BLADE 2. Now this is just a rough make-up bit, not finished, and definitely without the Phil Tippett enhancements that we all know will kick ass because Phil and his guys rule the earth! Gotta love that yellowy jaundiced yucky skin quality. Wish we were seeing how they looked photographed by Del Toro's cameras, cuz he takes really purty pictures of gross stuff! Hehehehe... Here ya go, we might have some video for ya later...

Hi Harry, I just saw a program on the European
Discovery Channel about an effects guy and they
followed him around the set of Blade 2 for about 30
min and they showed some shots of a reaper from the
make-up trailer and then later a scene where he is
shot down. I thought I'd send some vidcaps over to you
in case you haven't seen 'em yet.

What's the point of a Blade movie without Traci Lords?

    by evilrockposh

Actually, what's the point of any movie without Traci Lords? I still say she would have made a great Arwen.

    a few things

    by some dude

    1) "That guy" from "Hills Have Eyes" is Michael Berryman. Did you know he has no hair (not even brows or lashes) or nails?
    --------------------------------
    2) These reapers are going to look even better in action, because that silly-looking line on the chin splits open to make the mouth obscenely wide.
    --------------------------------
    3) Whoever tried to "get" Harry by pointing out that two films had the same composer and therefore must have equally good music... Uh, do you mean to say that new Metallica is as good as old Metallica? Or that new De Palma is as good as classic De Palma? Or that New Coke was as good as Coca-Cola? Get the point?

Dear God, Michael Jackson has been out in the SUN!

    by 2gold

I'm looking forward to this film and I'm also looking forward to X-men 2 (I don't care WHAT FOX says, X2 is the dumbest title on the PLANET!). And am I the only one hoping LOTR bombs just to know that somewhere Harry would be curdled into a ball and crying? I mean, I don't want it to bomb but I guess a mean side of me does. Anyway, back to Blade 2. I want MORE BLOOD! MORE GORE! MORE CHICKS IN LEATHER (oh wait, that's what I want from Matrix 2, sorry)!! You know this film will do good, a bloodly film with Snipes that could also be a horror? This isn't Arnold (anyone who goes to see T3 needs to be hung upside down and beat with a throat). Good luck Blade boy, and for god sakes someone get Michael some tanning lotion! HE LOOKS HORRIBLE up there!

  • Just joking!Looks alright, nothing to get tooo excited about though. , A bit like Buffy's the *Gentlemen* , crossed with that overdone vein look , that crept into the Borg make-ups towards the end of Vayager etc.The ribs look a bit fake though!

...and you'll find quite a large entry, actually.
Anyway; I saw the 'Blade' for the first time only a couple a weeks ago, and couldn't believe I'd been avoiding this film.
DAMN, I had a good time.
    Looking forward to this.

    Wayne Barlowe

    by edward_bozzard

    Hey

I don't know whether this os old news or not.. I'm guessing it probably is, but this amazing artist called Wayne Barlowe is designing a lot of the stuff for Blade 2.. Check out his artwork at

    http://www.morpheusint.com/main.htm

This site is just incredible.. If you like fantasy art, you gotta see this stuff.. I went to their gallery on a recent trip to california, and it relly blew me away..Also, if you like Giger, they have the only permanent exhibition of his work there..

the car. The ultra ubercool Dodge Challenger that he drove in the first movie. Now THAT is coming back for the sequel isn't it ? Say it's so ! As to the jaundiced zombie...yeah, yeah...Savini was doing this a couple of decades ago. What's new ?

What is this? Phantasm 4 or Stone Cold at 104?

    by silentbob x

Let's hope that Mr. Snipes can keep this movie from descending into hell. I have high hopes, but strangely, I've not heard as much buzz on Blade 2 as on other comic book movies. Let's hope that this works out. Snoogans.

    Nosferatu

    by dannyocean01

I thought they would look more like Nosferatu- that take on the vampire was scary. Though it's not bad considering how many there will be in Blade 2 and the budget they have to handle the make-up effects.

...one of the better vampire makeup jobs I've seen, except for one major oversight: vampires have black eyes!

    jap girls

    by cockknocker

Blade 2 needs more jap school girls! They were one of the highlights of the first film. As im sure you all agree. And this time we want to see their knickers.

They look much better... I've seen the movie!

    by psyclops

That slit down the chin opens and parts the bottom jaw in two... revealing a pair of mandibles that stretch out to consume their prey. There is a long tongue that is open ended and bordered with tiny fangs that penetrate the skin. The mix of CGI and actual make-up effects is flawless! There's one cool scene where a Reaper "licks his lips" by sliding the tongue in and around the edges of the stretched mouth. Trust me... the movie rocks and the these guys kick ass!

This is just a little look behind the scenes. How can you judge a whole movie on that?

But let me just say....please don't let this movie suck!

of course this is gonna kick ass

    by morganfreak

I'm surprised no one mentioned how much these reaper pics resemble deniro as frankenstein. It makes sense about their look though, seeing as del toro wanted to have some scary as hell vampires and lets face it, dracula hasn't exactly been scary on film for some time now, so it's kinda fitting that they resemble nosferatu in a way. This sequel is gonna be great cause it is taking the path all good sequels should:BIGGER AND BETTER. The only thing i may be ticked off about is the music though,if anything. I liked how they played cool songs during the fights in the first one, i just wish they would use more "rock" in this one, like slipknot, fear factory, etc. Can anyone say anything about the tunes in this one? just curious.
