The Practice 6.6 FAQ

What’s it called?

“Honor Code.”

Who’s responsible?

Teleplay credited to series producer Lukas Reiter and series creator David E. Kelley.

What does TV Guide say?

“Complications in a personal-injury suit unsettle Jimmy, whose emotional reaction prompts a disbarment hearing presided over by the uncompromising Judge Hiller (Linda Hunt).”

What is TV Guide not telling us?
The personal injury suit was filed on behalf of a black 10-year-old boy who was run over by an SUV. Donnell Young is brought in by the insurance company’s lawyer. Since the accident, the youngster says he has trouble remembering things, and can no longer learn in school.

What are the Jimmy-upsetting complications?

At the end of the first act, a doctor with the defendant’s insurance company says he’s become aware that the boy suffers from an aneurism that will almost certainly kill the boy if he doesn’t get treatment – maybe in a day, maybe in 10 years. But the insurance company instructs the lawyers never to reveal what they’ve learned for fear of a much bigger lawsuit.

What else is TV Guide not telling us?

This incident precipitates great tension between Jimmy and another member of the film.

Between Jimmy and Bobby?

No.

What’s good?

The firm’s moral dilemma.

What’s not so good?

The very ending feels like a huge cheat.

Are Herc’s reviews getting shorter?

Some will be shorter than others. There are many shows to cover, and most TV critics only cover season premieres.

Sunday was certain death night for TV

I can't blame ABC for sacrificing their repeats to the fire. Up against the Emmys and Game 7, nobody but diehard fans (if even them) were watching anything else. Besides, with Practice on twice a friggin night on FX, I can hold off a week or two for a new episode.****Since I usually wait until Thursday's Adult Swim on Cartoon Network, I ended up watching the Friar's Club Roast of Hugh Hefner. Some funny stuff. ("When you fuck him, does dust come out?")
