Personally I'd love a STARSHIP TROOPERS 2, but I don't think it's going to happen due to the box office of the first film. I would love the 'script' that exists, but I feel this will be all that comes of it. I watched STARSHIP TROOPERS earlier today on DVD and dang if I still don't still like it. Well us Starship Troopers lovers will just have to pray.

I work in Tarzana, CA. The other day I ran into Casper Van Dien and I talked to him for a while. One of the things I asked him was if there would be a ST 2. He said he had talked to Paul Verhoeven and that some high up execs at Tri Star loved ST and want to see a sequel. Since it wasn't a box office success, it was highly doubtful that there would be a sequel until now. He also said there was already a completed screenplay and that the pro ST2 execs are trying to get another Sony studio to chip in and raise the budget more to include some more costlier effects (like the power suits hopefully). Casper also said all the remaining main characters from the fisrt ST will be back with some new characters as well. He had been drinking a little so he divulged a lot of info. One last thing. He said one of the new characters would be a brother of Michael Ironside's character. Ironside died in the first one. Anyways, that's all for now.
