Pixar's Latest Schedule... No 2004 film...
Hey folks, Harry here... Pixar had been planning on releasing a film, beginning 2003, every year, but it seems that those plans were a bit premature given the sheer enormity of the task of getting MONSTERS, INC and FINDING NEMO in the shape they need to be in for release. While I'm sad that we won't be getting a PIXAR present every year, we will at least be continuing to get QUALITY work... And QUALITY is always better than quantity...
Harry,
Just got my Form 10-K from Pixar. Some cool stuff in it about how Pixar goes
about things. Well, Pixar is saying that it is possible that they may not be
able to release a new film in 2004.
Here is what it says:
"If we are able to release films in 2001 and 2003, we cannot provide any
assurances that we will release our next film in 2004. Due to the strain on
our personnel from the effort required for the release of Monsters, Inc. and
Finding Nemo and the time required for creative development of a new film,
it is possible that we would be unable to release a successive new film in
2004."
This is typical negative stuff from companies when they release their 10-K
statements. But they did go into more detail on the strain of successive
releases is placing on the infrastructure of the studio.
If was a bettin' man, I'd say their next film after Finding Nemo would be
released in 2005 which seems to be typical of their production cycle.
