Our Man in Telluride Breaks It Down For You!!!

Published at:  Aug 30, 2001 2:29:18 PM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here and our man in Telluride, that lucky sexy S.o.B. known to world that spits emails at one another as RAV is chiming in from that burg to give us a rundown on the showlist... Looking at TELLURIDE's list, I can confirm some damn fine films there. AMELIE is a masterpiece. THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE is a fantastic new film from Guillermo Del Toro... my review is being worked on right now. To see Ken Russell's THE DEVILS on the big screen would just be joy... same with ALPHAVILLE! And then there is CAT'S MEOW with Kirsten Dunst, which I've been looking forward to for quite some time. This new AMADEUS cut... we'll let's wait and see... sometimes these new cuts blow...

Harry and AICN gang,

Well, I just picked up the intial schedule for Telluride (it's hot off the press). As most know, Telluride is the one of the only festivals in the country to keep it's schedule secret until the day before the festival (today). Damn, this year's schedule was full of a surprises. One of the most notable being a new cut of Amadeus in which Milos Forman is presenting, apparently the new cut has been entirely re-edited and remastered with over 30 minutes of restored footage, it is being dubbed "Amadeus 2001", there is a quote in the schedule from Milos Forman in which he says the three hour cut will be released in a limited theatrical release (does not say by who or when), I'll tell you more when I see it on Saturday (WOOOOHOOOO). It's kinda odd that they are doing a tribute to HBO on the local community station over here, but they leave out RKO 281 and The Late Shift. Another really cool surprise is the identity of this year's festival director.......it is none other than SA!
LM!
ON RUSHDIE! Well thats it for now I'm just going to run down the street yelling "I WANT TO SEE AMELIE NOW!".

    lame summer

    by prince kamal

This whole year's been crapola. Started off strong, went down hill. And this summer... you know you're in trouble when the most enjoyable film stars John Travolta. And that was crap n' all.

It took me until today (and carefully reading the article again) to "get" the fish thing. That's okay, there was something in another tb about a sole instead of a soul. There was this blind man...
