Hey folks, your pal Dave, El Cosmico here, with more info about Nickelodeon's, or rather Jhonen Vasquez' excellent animated series, INVADER ZIM
Someone who's associated with the show was kind enough to pass along some more info to us, and here, I share it with you. I remind you, INVADER ZIM is on Nickelodeon, every Friday evening, at 8PM Central. Here's our man, Agent Darkbootie with more info:
Greetings Señor Cosmico,
I'm one of the doomed souls living inside the bowels
of "Invader ZIM" here at Nick, and I have some
information to pass on to the ZIM fans out there.
Nothing earth-rending, just a few things I would have
posted on the Talkback if it hadn't scrolled off so
quickly.
1. For those flocking to the San Diego Comic-Con, ZIM
is being paired on a panel with "Fairly Oddparents"
for no other reason than Nickelodeon's lazy publicity
department. Hapless hearts torn between Jhonen
Vasquez and the simultaneously-running Kevin Smith
panel should know that the "Oddparents" half of the
Nickstravaganza is slated to run first, so they can
discretely sneak away from Kevin after half an hour
and make the ZIM Shindig of Love. I'm sure Kevin
won't be hurt.
2. They will be screening one, possibly two new
episodes of ZIM -- which episodes are not yet
determined -- after which, Jhonen will pretend to
answer questions from the audience.
3. Yes, the accursed streak of reruns will end in
August, and a whole slew of new epsiodes are slated to
come down the pipe. Among them are such titles as
"Bad, Bad Rubber Piggy," "Invasion of the Idiot
Dogbrain," "A Room With a Moose," "Hamstergeddon,"
"Bloaty's Pizza Hog," "A Plague of Babies," and
others. Could one ask for more? One could, but one
would be ignored.
4. The total number of episodes this season will be
20. (That's 14 new ones still to come.) And Nick has
picked us up for a second season of 20 more. Season
two is in the script stage right now, while season one
cartoons are still in production. It takes much, much
longer to make a cartoon than to watch it, you see.
5. In the upcoming episodes, ZIM at no point falls in
love, learns a lesson in life, adopts a lovable orphan
boy, or discovers the true meaning of Christmas. He
does, however, do battle with the fearsome Hogulus.
6. The Almighty Tallest will be in more stuff.
If you could pass this info on to those in need, I'd
sleep much better at night.
Many Thanks,
Agent Darkbootie Many thanks to YOU, Agent Darkbootie.Readers, I exhort you to watch this show if you have any inclination to wacky animated shows. I'm sure you will be satisfied on some level.
