Hey folks, Harry here with the latest from that wispy slippage of flesh known as the heroic derring-doer of yesteryear and tomorrow... I am of course talking about the crawling one... wheelie the wheezer... HERCULES THE STRONG!!! Now Herc may be considered a bit of a sight... what with his bald emaciated green palor and toothless gaping and labored breathing... but really... deep down... He's diseased like you and me... Why look...he even went into space to capture this latest episode of ROSWELL for you.... Imagine the Herculean effort... of course everything he does has that sort of adjective describing it.... HERE'S HHHHHHeeeeeerccccc...... UUUUUUUUllllllllllllleeeeesssssssss.....
ROSWELL 2.11 FAQ
A NEW “ROSWELL?” WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME WE SAW A NEW “ROSWELL?” THE LAST MILLENNIUM??
Yes. 2.10 aired more than a month ago, on Dec. 18.
IS 2.11 CALLED “THE HYBRID CHRONICLES PART I?”
No. The WB’s promo department seems to like making up
its own, catchier titles for things. The actual name
of 2.11 is “To Serve and Protect.”
WHAT’S “HYBRID” MEAN IN THE CONTEXT OF “ROSWELL,”
ANYWAY? ARE LIZ AND KYLE HYBRIDS?
I think that’s the idea, but Tess seems to casually
imply that the term “hybrid” applies to Max, Isabel,
Michael and Tess as well.
WHO’S REPSONSIBLE?
Teleplay is credited to Breen Frazier.
ANY GOOD?
Oh yeah! This episode has everything: big sci-fi
drama, suspense, action, and loads of swell plot
twists. Most importantly, it ends leaving fans with a
litany of intriguing new questions. Special credit
goes to director Jefery Levy; he does a spectacular
job throughout, but especially with the dream
sequences.
WHAT DOES TV GUIDE SAY?
“Isabel suffers from nightmares depicting a girl
bound, locked in a trunk and screaming for help.
Sheriff Valenti is questioned
about the year-old
shooting of Everett Hubble.”
UM, WHO’S EVERETT HUBBLE?
An unpleasant, unshaven, alien-hating,
bolo-tie-wearing Southwesterner who almost put a
bullet in Max last season. Jim Valenti had to shoot
Hubble to save Max, but also had to fabricate a
Max-free story to explain the shooting.
WHAT ISN’T TV GUIDE TELLING US?
Isabel’s visions tell her that someone
she knows –
someone WE know from prior episodes – locked that girl
in the trunk.
WHO? (BIG SPOILER HERE)
It’s an anagram for “noon strangers.”
WOW! WHAT ELSE ISN’T TV GUIDE TELLING US??
There’s a lot of stuff going on with the new
“hybrids,” Liz and Kyle.
WHAT’S GOING ON WITH LIZ?
Remember nerdy, Angela Chase-chasing Brian Krakow from
“My So-Called Life?” Devon Gummersall, who now looks
the size of three Krakows, is introduced early on as
Maria’s “loser cousin” Sean. Sean is newly out of
some sort of institution and taking up residence with
the DeLuca girls. Sean’s reappearance seems to cause
Liz Parker’s serious case of “Max on the Brain” to
dissipate.
WHAT’S GOING ON WITH KYLE?
Because Liz and Kyle were both resurrected by Max,
Kyle frets over his own alien-ness, and whether he’s
going to get a superpower. (If you missed it, Liz
seemed to get an astral projection kind of superpower
two episodes ago.)
HEY! ARE ALL THOSE CANCER KIDS MAX HEALED AT THE END
OF THE CHRISTMAS EPISODE GOING TO GET SUPERPOWERS NOW?
Excellent question!
WHAT’S MICHAEL UP TO?
Nothing. He can be glimpsed for about ten seconds
behind the counter at the Crashdown. (He does fare
better, however, than Alex and Brody, who are
completely MIA this week.)
WHAT LINE OF THIS WEEK’S DIALOGUE COULD PRECIPITATE A
LOT OF SPECULATION IN TALKBACK?
“There’s something about her, Max. It’s like I know
her.”
ANYTHING REALLY CURIOUS ABOUT THE END CREDITS?
Yeah! This episode has been assigned the number
“2ADA10.” But this is actually the 11th episode of
the second season. What the dilly!
