Now... you might wonder if perhaps Rowling might just be disconnected from the film... NOPE... Rowling has immense veto and controls on this feature film. And she will get her UK kid, unless by some impossible fate it is exhibited to her that no British child has the chops for it (which ain't bloody likely). And that's that...

Hot news here direct from J K Rowling herself!
At 1pm today, Ms Rowling did a reading from Goblet of Fire at Waterstones Piccadilly here in London which I have just got back from. She also answered questions afterwards, and here's what I asked:
Me: Is there any truth in the casting of Liam Aiken as Harry Potter?
JKR: Who?
Me: Liam Aiken, an American boy. It was in the Daily Express yesterday.
JKR: No, ignore the internet, ignore the Daily Express. Harry has still not been cast yet. And believe me, he's going to be British when he is!
Me: Do you still have confidence in Chris Columbus?
JKR: Some confidence. That sounds terrible, doesn't it? Nearly all the parts have been cast for the film. Only Harry and a few others remain to be done yet.
Well, I don't know about you, but I'd call that proof that Liam Aiken isn't Harry!
