Hey folks... Harry here. We've all been hearing the rumors about Sterling Wolfe and the part of Scott Summers (aka CYCLOPS), and recently they've popped up over at Coming Attractions. But... According to Sterling, while he'd love to have the part... He hasn't heard anything from the casting office in about a month. Here's what Sterling had to say about the entire deal.... Let's cut right to the chase. I've been hearing the same things that I'm *sure* that you have, in regard to me *still* being in contention for the role of Cyke.
So here's the news, which is, I have no significant verified news to give you.
I've been hearing those renewed rumors about my participation from *many* curious angles since about a week before James Caviezel was first rumored to have dropped out. This, of course, is about three full weeks before Coming Attractions ran with the story about me being in contention (i.e., recently).
Can I confirm the CA rumor? Sure, Harry. Consider it confirmed -- LOL, to say, as did CA, that I made quite an impression on the "casting supervisor" is strangley phrased, but yeh ... LOL ... it's accurate. HOWEVER ... it ranks up in the big "who cares" bin. On this shoot, if you have not impressed Bryan directly, then it's basically meaningless.
Harry, truth is that I "am" Scott Summers, so *sure* I'd love to do the shoot if given the opportunity. However, the unforunate fact is that despite allllllll the rumors I'm hearing from several continents that I'm in the running -- some of them sensible sounding, some of them outright outlandish, truth is that my agent has not heard *directly* from production in well over a month.
Here's what I make of the rumors. That there is *some* truth to them, because otherwise, my agent and I would not be fielding so many of them from the "B list" press and elsewhere, and Patrick would not run with the scooop unless somehow confirmed from within the dark castle. HOWEVER, I suspect that my status is still merely the darkest of horses, so to speak, unless Bill Mechanic was not just blowing smoke, and they really do want to make stars rather than hiring them.
Dunno, man. Just dunno. Strange business, this. Wish I had something definite and worthwhile to tell you, but I thought since for once the biz rumors are about *me* I might as well check in.
