Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a bit on the status of Doug Jones (Abe Sapien from HELLBOY) climbing into the role of the Silver Surfer in the upcoming FANTASTIC FOUR sequel. At Comic-Con he was very coy about it, but strongly hinted at it being in the works (read exactly what he said here!!!). Now it seems that his "credit" has been "approved" and the Silver suit he liked is now his. At least, according to a spy who ran into Doug recently. Here's what our spy had to say:

I had the great pleasure of meeting Doug Jones today at our local comic book store here in Bowling Green, KY. Doug was there promoting a movie he is shooting here called “Knock, Knock”. Let me say that Mr. Jones has to be one of the absolute nicest human beings I have ever met. He was very courteous and seemed to go out of the way to speak with you. I asked Doug if it was true that he would be playing the Silver Surfer. He told me that the contracts were being signed at this moment and that he was going to begin shooting in Canada here in the next couple of weeks. Hope this is useful.

As much as I didn't like the first FANTASTIC FOUR, I'm really finding myself quite excited to see the Silver Surfer brought to life in the sequel. I mean, FF2 can't be as bad as the first movie, can it? Especially with eye-candy like the Silver Surfer added onto the eye-candy of Jessica Alba in a tight suit, right?
