Hi, everyone. "Moriarty" here with some Rumblings From The Lab...
... and I’m actually conflicted about it. I mean, I love the movie. I’m dying to see the movie for a second time so I can absorb more of the experience. But when I saw it last week, I had seen very little of the finished film, and as a result, certain images hit me like a ton of bricks. They just hit me hard.
And now most of those images are in the trailer. I have to wonder if this isn’t going to rob them of some of their contextual power. I mean, I know Warner wants to sell the film, and they’ve got some real eye candy to play with here, but still... I think I would have avoided a few of the key moments. It's bad enough that I've marked this as a "spoilers" article, and I'll warn you that if you really want to see this fresh... skip the trailer and wait a few more months.
In the end, whatever gets people into the theater is okay by me. You can check out the trailer here for yourself. I showed it to my wife this afternoon, and it worked on her as a love story, which is what I think they should emphasize more than anything else. She asked me, “Would you do that for me?” That’s exactly what I hope works for Warner in selling this, that sort of personal connection that the story will have for viewers.
Now that you’ve had a look, tell us... what did you think?
