The international trailer for NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM has hit YouTube.
The film stars Ben Stiller as a night watchman who must deal with the ramifications of a curse being unleashed in his museum; said curse brings exhibits to life. Looks sort of like JUMANJI...but without the game.
Shawn Levy (CHEAPER BY THE DOZEN, THE PINK PANTHER redux) will direct
Ernest Borgnine, Dick Van Dyke, Owen Wilson, Mickey Rooney, and Robin Williams (as Teddy Roosevelt). A weird, but kind of cool, hodge-podge of folks.
While Levy's involvement may not set Geekometers aflutter, 'tis far more agreeable than the talent originally attached to the project. At one point, this was a Stephen Sommers film. Considering the jaw dropping lack of restraint...and shameless self-indulgence...Sommers manifested in THE MUMMY RETURNS, and especially VAN HELSING (at the top of my list for the worst "big" movie released by Hollywood in the last five years), nearly anyone means happier tidings for this project ('cept Uwe Boll).
