John Woo's HE-MAN and SPYHUNTER stalled in lieu of Hong Kong Projects?!?
Hey folks, Harry here... as is often the case in Hollywood - the winds change and projects that seemed to be "coming soon" get docked for a myriad of reasons. According to a source at CanMag.Com both SPYHUNTER and HE-MAN, both of which were set to be helmed by Hong Kong Action God, John Woo. It seems the studios got cold feet. However, as cool as those projects might have possibly turned out... the news that it put wind in Woo's sails to venture back to Hong Kong to shoot a new film with Chow Yun Fat... well, that's great. It's like the lovely news of Verhoeven making a new Dutch film. Seems the next John Woo film we'll see is THE BATTLE OF RED CLIFF! Thanks goes to Shannon for the link and heads up!
