Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a nice bit for you AICNers out there. We have the first listen to Lalo Schifrin's score for his son, Ryan's, directorial debut, the horror flick ABOMINABLE. Schifrin composed such classic films and TV series as BULLITT, ENTER THE DRAGON, DIRTY HARRY, THX 1138, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, STARSKY & HUTCH (tv) and COOL HAND LUKE. This is his first horror score since the original AMITYVILLE HORROR.
I got a glimpse at ABOMINABLE yesterday. It reminded me of some of my favorite forgotten B movies of the '80s. Not the A-List B-movies (if there is such a thing), like EVIL DEAD 2 or NIGHT OF THE CREEPS, but more like the stuff like BLOOD DINER. When the movie works, it works really well. There's some stuff that doesn't work and some really bad actresses, but whenever that big evil bastard sasquatch pops up he does some insanely great, gory damage.
The flick has some familiar faces to help along the way, like Jeffrey Combs, Lance Henriksen and Dee Wallace-Stone. I think it's getting a limited release on April 14th. But right this second you can click on the below links to get a listen to Lalo Schifrin's title track for the movie! Enjoy!!!
