Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a heads up I got about the line of collectible pieces of awesome molded, sculpted and painted by the good folks at Weta Collectibles. We knew they had the SUPERMAN RETURNS license and saw one of their pieces displayed at ToyFair, which happened to be the weakest piece, funnily enough. Anyway, we got a heads up on the other pieces. Ahhhh geekdom. Lately it has been joyously brought to life by those wizards down under at WETA Workshop in New Zealand. Yes? Damn skippy! Behold the latest work involving that certain Last Son of Krypton as brough to life and art directed with by Brian Singer himself! These sculptures are said to be lifted from scenes right out of the film... so, may be mildly spoilerish... but look at the freakin' nose of the plane, flaming falling debris and heroic pose of said superhero.... DC comics brought to life!

I went... and holy crap. I want these two pieces... so badly. And if it is true above, that these are taken from the movie, then Holy Crap again. Check these out... The first one is just brilliantly designed as a sculpture... great piece of action... But that second one with Lex... just speaks volumes with one piece of work. That is Lex Luthor.
