Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I was farting around online and checked out the good folks at Bloody-Disgusting who had an interesting link over to Variety. I'm an unabashed FRIDAY THE 13TH fan. Sure, most of them are rough and some are even god-awful movies (I'm looking at you JASON GOES TO HELL), but I love 'em. Call me nostalgic, but I grew up with 'em and I love the slasher genre. Jason is an icon and you can't beat the FRIDAY THE 13TH series for constant inventive kills and fun gore.

So, it lookes like New Line will be throwing a new FRIDAY THE 13TH movie into production with a release date of October 13th (Friday, of course). This isn't the first time a Friday the 13th movie has come out on that date, but why not? I think it should be a mandatory release date, actually. I hope they decide to go the low-budget non-CG route. I enjoyed FREDDY VS. JASON and to a lesser degree JASON X, but I hope some of the more cartoony aspects and color schemes are pulled out of the franchise and we get something more old school. What do you folks think?
