PEGASUS Aftermath!! Herc's Seen The First New GALACTICA Since September!!

Battlestar Galactica 2.11 FAQ

What’s it called?
“Resurrection Ship, Part One.”

Who’s responsible?
Michael Rymer, who directed the “Battlestar” miniseries and many subsequent regular-season episodes, writes his first “Battlestar” teleplay. (He directs the episode as well.)

What does TV Guide say?
“Part one of two. A military showdown between Galactica and Pegasus is averted by the arrival of Starbuck, who returns with recon photos of a Cylon resurrection ship, a target that eclipses the conflict between Cdr. Adama and Adm. Cain (Michelle Forbes).”

What’s a “resurrection ship”?
Pegasus-Six tells Baltar it’s something the Cylons need nearby if they have to transmit their consciousnesses from dying bodies into healthy new ones. We saw Cain pointing to fuzzy photos of it in “Pegasus.”

Why doesn’t Pegasus beat down Galactica, then go after the resurrection ship?
Roslin brings both Cain and Adama aboard Colonial One, and points out that if Galactica and Pegasus attack each other, Galactica will likely be destroyed and Pegasus will likely be crippled. Which would make fighting the Cylons a lot trickier.

Are Boomer’s boys, Tyrol and Agathon, freed?
No. But Cain does agree to postpone their executions until after the joint attack on the resurrection ship.

In the 1970s “Galactica” two-parter “Living Legend,” the Pegasus pretty much disappeared during the attack on the Cylons, leaving Adama and his fleet exactly where they started. Does the same thing happen in 2006?
No. By the end of the “Resurrection Ship” two-parter, there will be a couple of huge changes that will be carried over into 2.13 (“Epiphanies”) and likely well beyond.

What else is TV Guide not telling us?
Apollo gets a new boss when Cain decides to replace the Pegasus’ CAG.

What’s doing with Starbuck?
On Roslin’s advice, Bill Adama charges Kara Thrace with an unusual duty.

What’s doing with Boomer?
She and Adama have a conversation in sickbay.

What’s doing with Baltar?
He spends the episode with the Pegasus’ version of Six, just taking a break long enough to brief Cain about the resurrection ship.

What’s good?
Roslin’s act-one sitdown with Bill Adama and Helena Cain. The way Michelle Forbes’ palm hits the console on the word “frak.” “I wouldn’t count on that.” Six’s repeated nakedness. Roslin’s private pragmatism. Grace Park, all shell-shocked and scared-bunny.

What’s not so good?
At episode’s start, when Galactica and Pegasus fighters meet in space, no fire is exchanged. Some of Cain’s decisions are so curious one wonders how she made it this far.

How does it end, spoiler-boy?
Bill Adama gives Starbuck her marching orders.
