John McTiernan looking to unleash HONOR HARRINGTON On A Screen Near You?

Hey folks, Harry here with a juicy Christmas rumor for you to put under your Christmas Tree or snuggly in the stocking of hopes you've got up by the chimney near you. It seems that a rumor is picking up a little steam around the web, mainly due to the quoted paragraph below - that David Weber and John McTiernan are working on a big budget HONOR HARRINGTON film. For a sizable chunk of fandom that worships the hot space adventuress Honor Harrington - who is definitely not another "Barbarella" or "Galaxina". I wish McTiernan the best in getting this to the screen - we need as much good sci-fi as possible. Here's Horace with the rumor...

From a gaming BBS I frequent:

"Hung out with my old Starfire collaborator David Weber at PhilCon last weekend, and he mentioned that there is Big Budget Honor Harrington movie in the works with John McTiernan of Predator/Die Hard/Hunt-For-Red-October fame, slated to direct!

So for all the HH fans out there, let the who-should-be-cast-as-whom discussion begin. David mentioned he felt that Mira Furlan, who played Delenn on Babylon 5, had Honor's "Command Soprano" voice. Personally I think that Julia Stiles could pull off a credible Honor. . "

ADV, the anime company had rights to these novels to do a TV series, but it went nowhere. This has the potential to be a franchise series if done well.

Call me "Horace Harkness"
