It looks like Austin’s original Alamo Drafthouse bought that season-one “Veronica Mars” DVD set I’ve been reading about – and will maybe show all 16.5 genius-y hours of it over 22 hours on Jan. 14 in front of a live, drunken and very happy audience. Read more about it here.
Then the next night, Jan. 15, the Drafthouse is doing a separate “Veronica Mars World Premiere Party” where it’ll show a new, not-quite-aired season-two episode – written and directed by Thomas himself – a few days before the rest of America gets a look at it. Read more about it here.
AND. If I’m reading all this correctly? “Mars” creator/showrunner (and former Austinite) Rob Thomas is returning to Austin for both events, and is dragging cast members Kristen Bell, Enrico Colantoni and Jason Dohring along with him.
The reason we’re posting this today? Tickets go on sale tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 2, 5 p.m. Austin time. Sharp. I do believe these events will sell out in about 82 seconds.
