George A. Romero officially slips behind the wheel of Stephen King's BUICK!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with an update on George Romero. When I interviewed the man a few weeks ago, he told me that his adaptation of Stephen King's FROM A BUICK 8 was pretty close to being a done deal... at least a lot more so than THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON. Now it seems he's taken his next step toward production. Variety announced that Chesapeake Films is going into production soon with Romero at the helm. This is the only Stephen King book I haven't read... I picked it up when it came out, read about 75 pages, put it down and just never really picked it up again. I wasn't really bored, but I also wasn't really drawn into the book... I'm gonna give it another shot once I finish Priest's THE PRESTIGE.

I like Romero's KING stuff. Even the flawed DARK HALF flick. So, I look forward to seeing Romero take a stab at this one, although I think if done right THE GIRL WHO LOVED TOM GORDON could be a classic. What about you folks?
