MUNICH isn't the film I thought it was - though it looks like the one I hoped it would be!

Hey folks, Harry here... When I heard that Spielberg was taking on the Munich Olympics in a movie he'd call MUNICH - I was quite anxious to see what he'd do. I think, deep down I felt it would be a dramatization of the events in ONE DAY IN SEPTEMBER. That we'd deal with the German military, the athletes and the terrorists... But I remember hearing that the original title of the film was VENGEANCE - and that title creates an altogether different thought about a film regarding the Munich Olympics... as most people know, the people behind the terror of the Munich Olympics were each hunted down and killed. It was pure assassination. Something, "the good guys" aren't supposed to do. And ultimately - Spielberg wandering into Chan Wook Park territory... well, that's the sort of story you'd imagine William Friedkin doing circa 1978 or so. Not Spielberg, but ya know... I'm happy as hell to say, after seeing this trailer, that it appears that Steven is making a tremendous film. One that explores the act of vengeance under the most seemingly righteous of reasons. This was handled well in that old TV movie, SWORD OF GIDEON, but was limited by the TV production values and the material was absolutely ripe and vital to today's world. This is going to be an amazing film. The trailer has goosebumps throughout - wow.
