I’ve heard people criticize both Harry and Quint for being such passionate cheerleaders for this film, claiming they’re too close to Peter Jackson to be objective. Maybe that’s the case. I can tell you that they both sound genuinely enthusiastic every time we speak about the film. But I’m not “close” to Peter Jackson. I’ve spent a grand total of about 20 minutes ever talking to him. I’ve never been to New Zealand. In fact, I haven’t really said much about this film so far, other than “I’m very curious.”
Well, now that I’ve seen this trailer (which I refused to watch until we got this clear version tonight), I think I can accurately sum up my feelings in three words: I am bonerized. And if you’re not, metaphorically speaking, then you need to check your grinchy geek heart, ‘cause it may have stopped beating. This trailer rules. Roll on, December. Roll on, KONG.
