Y'all know me, know how I earn a living. Quint here with some really cool news for us here in good ol' U.S. of A. Genius illustrator Alan Lee is doing a US book tour, signing copies of his upcoming book THE LORD OF THE RINGS SKETCHBOOK, an almost 200 page hard bound book filled to the brim with his gorgeous pencil sketches that helped shape Peter Jackson's vision of Tolkien's THE LORD OF THE RINGS.
I was sent a copy of the book earlier today and it is beautiful. The detail in Lee's pencils is simply amazing. Considering that anything I try to draw looks like it came out of the pen of a blind mongoloid with Parkinson's Disease, this kind of stuff blows me away.
Anyway, below is the list of cities and dates where you can see Alan Lee live and in person! Contact the stores listed for more information on his appearances! I've had the great honor of meeting Mr. Lee myself in my travels and can state that he is indeed a scholar and a gentleman. Don't let this pass you up if you can help it!
