Harry here, south of Amarillo on my way through the flatest spot on earth to Claude, Texas. Finally picked up a signal and thought I'd add to this. Back during SXSW when I had dinner with Elijah he was talking very enthusiastically about how he was hoping and dreaming that this would be his next part. He was working very hard to get it done. He asked me to not spill it back then, cuz it was a "wing and a prayer" sort of thing. He admitted that this would be the toughest thing he's ever tackled, requiring him to transform from a young Iggy to an older one. Personally I can't wait. As much as Elijah loves films, he actually loves music more. If that's possible.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a weird one. It looks like Elijah Wood is avoiding the Mark Hamill syndrome in a big way. His post LOTR flicks have seemingly been carefully picked, lots of off-beat and indie work. It looks like he's building up his street cred as it were and now the rumor is he's playing Iggy Pop!

This rumor started at The Sun, not the most reliable of sources, however in a recent interview that Elijah Wood did with the good folks over at Rope of Silicon he dropped this hint:

Elijah: There's a couple of things kinda on the horizon, nothing's properly set up yet.

Q: Anything you can talk about?

There may be a music biography coming up, something that scares the shit out of me. It's someone I am extremely passionate about, and yeah... That's coming up, but that's way in the future.

So, I'd be inclined to believe this one. Elijah as Iggy Pop. Curiouser and curiouser. I'm even more curious about the film BOBBY, directed by Emilio Estevez about the day Bobby Kennedy was shot. Wood talks about it in the above interview and it sounds like it could be fantastic.
