This viewer gets bitten by the WERE-RABBIT! Can WALLACE & GROMIT save him'

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a nice little review for the upcoming WALLACE & GROMIT: CURSE OF THE WERE-RABBIT flick. This is one of my must sees still on my '05 movie lists. I love the trailer and now we have a very positive review that gives us a little bit of the plot and info on new characters! There's also a great bit about the DREAMER trailer at the end that made me laugh out loud. Enjoy!

Hello.

Caught a screening of the new Wallace and Gromit flick tonight at a screening in Woodland Hills, figured I'd take the opportunity to write in about it.

I've loved all the Wallace and Gromit shorts, and really, the only question I had going into this movie, was if everything I liked about them could hold up for longer than 30 minutes. Well, it certainly can, and I can't see why anyone who's enjoyed any of the three short films won't enjoy this one. In fact, as Wallace and Gromit made their first appearance in the film, it was like seeing a friend you haven't seen in awhile. Has it really been 10 years since the A Close Shave?

Treading lightly on spoilers, the plot goes like this: Wallace and Gromit have taken up a humane pest-control company called "Anti-Pesto", and are doing quite well with it. However, they've ended up with quite an abundance of rabbits running through their house. Wallace gets the idea of using a brain-washing tool to reprogram a rabbits brain to not crave vegetables, but as you might guess, things don't go as planned. Soon, a veg-craving creature begins attacking the unsuspecting town, all on the verge of the annual Giant Vegetable competition. Thrown into the mix are Lady Trottington, who Wallace takes a liking for, and her gun loving suitor, Victor Quartermaine.

The reveal of the creature is a lot of fun, as they play with a lot moments we've come to know from any typical teen horror movie. It actually just seemed to get more fun as it went along, but it would be hard to explain why without spoiling it. In addition to our two heroes, there are plenty of new characters that get good moments, the priest, Victor Quartermaine, his nutty little dog. But I must say that a big part of the movie's success comes from a simple rule of entertainment: bunnies are fucking cute.

That's really all there is to it... Wallace still loves cheese, Gromit still has to look out for him, and when you add cute damn rabbits to the mix, you can't really go wrong. The audience was a mix of families and a few critic-types, but everyone seemed to enjoy it, and that includes two of my friends who had never even heard of the characters before. Of course, we can only trust one of their opinions. The other said the hairs on her arm stood up during the Dreamer trailer, and quite frankly, that trailer blows ass. Bunnies may cute, but gimpy horses and Dakota Fanning make me vomit in the back of my throat.

If you use this, you can call me Deflatormaus.
