The Hollywood Reporter checks in Tuesday morning with two keen pieces of casting news.
“Aeon Flux” star Charlize Theron will appear on five episodes of “Arrested Development” this coming season. She’ll play a Brit and potential love interest for Michael Bluth. It’s her first regular TV role. Read more here.
Brian Cox, the actor who – among many, many other things – was the first to play Hannibal the Cannibal (in Michael Mann’s “Manhunter”), is joining the cast of “Deadwood” for seven episodes. He’ll be playing a theatrical producer named Jack Langrishe. Read more here.
Look! If you can hold off another another few weeks, retailers will make available on Sept. 20 what’s said to be a better, less-expensive season-one “Galactica” set, one that contains not only all 13 episodes of the first 2005 regular season but also the entire 2003 miniseries. Plus? Commentaries by series creator Ron Moore on the miniseries and nine of the first season’s 13 hours. The five-disc Sept. 20 version is said to contain also deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes material, sketches, art and other extras.
