Anger Management Drop-Out DMANN on WIZARD WORLD and STAR WARS!

Hey folks, Harry here... Lucas' automaton... aka Steve Sansweet is out stumping for STAR WARS again... basically the same lack of anything really cool - like what he dished out at COMIC CON - only this time... well, we've heard it before. Check it out from the rabid dog, DMANN...

Hey Harry, Mori, Gang.

Dmann here from the 2005 Wizard World comic convention in Chicago.

Had a chance to catch the Steve Sansweet "Future of Star Wars" panel/presentation earlier today, not a lot of new information.

They showed us a bunch of "highlight reels", one from ILM, one from the Battlefront 2 Game, one from the two trilogies, one from the lines and last day of shooting, nothing special.

They also showed us a deleted scene from the upcoming ROTS DVD, a pretty boring (maybe that's why they cut it) scene featuring Bail Organa, Padme, a young Mon Mothma (who looked mysteriously like Eowyn with a really lame headdress, go figure!) as they and several others conspire to basically form the rebel alliance to "restore democracy". Like I said, it was a boring, talky scene of several people sitting around a table. Still, it was kinda cool to see Mon Mothma, and the seeds of rebellion.

The bigger news is, now that Lucas Arts, Lucas film and Industrial Lucas and Magic have moved into the Letterman Digital Arts Center at the old Presidio military complex, they are HIRING.

Thats right kiddies and kidlettes, if you have a strong background in video game/computer animation, get your resumes ready, both Lucasarts and Lucasfilm Animation (partially based in SF, partially in Singapore) might be looking for you. At least, thats what Steve Sansweet, Head of Fan Relations for Lucasfilm said, rather emphatically.

Makes me wish I could computer animate!

According to Sansweet, the next project for Lucasfilm ISN'T the live action tv show that everyone was talking about around the time of Celebration. First up is a computer animated TV show from the new animation unit, taking place, yet again, between Episodes 2 and 3. No, Genndy Tartakovsky will not be involved, Sansweet said that Tartaovsky has his own 2D film projects he is working on, and they would love to work with him again, it's just not on deck at the moment. Don't ask me if thats crap, and there's some other reason, or if its the god's honest truth, its just what he said.

And the 3D versions of the OT (and NT too probably)? Yeah, those are going to be a while, a long while. Sansweet said the process requires digital projection, and according to HIM, there aren't a signifigant number more digital projection screens than there were for episode 1. Plus, it requires those doofy glasses that you wear at science centers, so I'm less than excited.

Well, thats about it. I'm having a blast, caught up with some Bnat Minnesotans, hopefully do some drinking tonight, and get you some more info tomorrow.

Hugs and Kisses,

Dmann
