Comic-Con: Quint has pics galore of the coolest toys! LEGEND, THING, LOTD, TITANS and more!!!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here fresh off of the floor on preview night at Comic-Con. I spent all 3 hours of preview night running around, looking at the big booths full of movie promos, prototype toys, banners, statuettes, posters and the like.

The panels begin tomorrow and I've managed to arrange a good amount of interviews, so expect me to me to get beaten to a pulp by the huge bodyguards of a well known screen beauty by the weekends end due to me expressing my undying love and devotion.

Anyway, I have 2 stories for preview night... This one will focus on the hodgepodge, the various cool bits that have absolutely no relation to each other, the other... on a giant ape.

They had a set-up with tons of the original puppets uses for Tim Burton's upcoming CORPSE BRIDE. Here's the pic!

Aren't they sweet? I wandered over to the Gentle Giant and in amongst all the STAR WARS busts and that damn cool Sirius Black AZKABAN bust (which is, unfortunately, limited to 500 pieces and I didn't get one) there was a real surprise and treat for me... I love me my Ray Harryhausen...

Gentle Giant is putting out a series of models from CLASH OF THE TITANS, which won't be out until next year. I was a little disappointed that there was no Bubo, but there was a Calibos with his little fork hand and the one... the only...

Now... I also managed to swing by Sideshow's booth and saw their series of 1:1 scale busts... Good God... The detail was amazing. They had a Darth Maul (with wrinkly nose snarl and removable cloak hood) and one that totally blew that horny bastard out of the water... Them little horns don't hold a candle to...

I want... The Sideshow lady I was talking to watched me geek out. "Is it really going to be that big?" This sucker is massive... as big as it looks in that pic... In person it's breathtaking. "Yes," she said. Jokingly, I added "But it'll cost what? Five thousand dollars?" The Sideshow lady nodded and said, "Yes." I don't know if she is kidding or not... that's a ridiculous price, but damn if it isn't worth it... if I were a rich man.

Before the end of the night I jumped in line to get Neca's exclusives... Rafferty's Badge from SIN CITY, Bloody Marv and the DEVIL'S REJECTS two-pack. As cool as those are, I passed by SOTA's booth on the way to Neca's and saw some really cool geeky horror toys. Some old (AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON werewolf bust) and the Thing box set...

And some new.

Nice 'eh? Big Daddy, Tom Savini and Butcher zombie? I wish they came in that scale...

There you have a bulk of the cool shit that I came across while jumping around the floor... I have a whole article just on Weta's KING KONG and NARNIA stuff. I'm gonna start that article... right... now!

-Quint
