Luc Besson's newest directorial outing to star Mia Farrow, Freddie Highmore and will be in 3-D!!

Hey folks, Harry here... First off, this isn't a live action film. It's CG. It's also based on Luc Besson's Children Book he wrote in French. In addition to this cast, I've heard that it also has Madonna as a voice. And as for the reason 3D is becoming more of a thing. Yes, it is to combat piracy - but more so - it's to combat Home Theater Systems. The fact is, right now many HD Projection Home Theatre systems feature a more 'pristine' theatrical environment than local theaters with obnoxious talking audiences, cel phones going off and quasi-capable high school educated projectionists. Hollywood and filmmakers are looking to "up the ante" in terms of theatrical spectacle - and with the amazing advances that have taken place in 3D... From camera systems - to CG's natural 3D ability - to the 4K Digital 3D Polarized Projection system - which is reportedly jaw-droppingly amazing... AND - Fox's commitment to get 1500 screens nationwide set up with that system for James Cameron's BATTLE ANGEL ALITA... that means that beginning in about a year's time - there will be 1500 screens in this country with the capability to show the new state of the art. If you're a state of the art filmmaker - simply... You can't not afford to consider it as a very viable option.

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with some really good news. Luc Besson has finally decided to direct again! Us fans of LEON, THE FIFTH ELEMENT and every other Besson-directed flick are berry, berry happy right now. It's been relatively known that he's doing this flick called ARTHUR AND THE MINIMOYS, based on a series of books he penned, but now Variety has confirmed it starring Mia Farrow and Charlie himself, Freddie Highmore... as well as the news that it'll be a 3-D outting.

While Besson hasn't directed anything since THE MESSENGER (a flick I really liked and feel is a tad underappreciated) he has produced something like 298,302 movies. Now he's finally behind the camera again with a 3-D kids flick. Is Besson going the way of Rodriguez? I guess time will tell. I'm intrigued by the casting of Highmore, who was great in FINDING NEVERLAND and who I hope is great in CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, and Mia Farrow. What do you folks think?
